I try so hard not to be a downer on this one, especially since Mass Effect is one of my favourite franchise, but I can't get myself to be optimistic about it. It's called 'Reveal trailer' and yet it didn't reveal much that we didn't already know.

Oh, my hype just kinda farted out, the Prometheans are the worst. They are like the most generic, boring faction ever. Not to mention that they yell at you in really stupid "rawr die human" phrases
I know Vanderloo was pretty generic handsome but even that was more interesting that default character creator man

Yeah, as unrealistic as Mass Effect is, it set itself up as being plausible except for element zero. What made Sovereign so interesting is that you were expecting some bad guy in a high tech spaceship but then it flips it on you because the bad guy WAS the spaceship and it has an incomprehensible level of intelligence and is so incredibly powerful that it took the combined military power of the citadel and human fleets to take down one of them(in their defense, the geth were supporting it) and then you find out there is an innumerable amount of them waiting beyond the galaxy

This is exactly my biggest gripe so far. They're throwing out an interesting setup for some trite schlock.
They could have made it about humanity trying to communicate and understand a new alien civilization since humanity was already integrated in the original trilogy but nope, an ancient evil has awoken and it's up to the player to save everything
Oh but it's personal because the ancient evil killed my family that I have no attachment to as a player at the beginning of the game

Halo 7 is looking good.
But seriously though, this doesn't even look like Mass Effect anymore, something massively off about the design styles, plus the plot, or what we know of it is rather generic, tbh I don't really have any hope of this game being good, I hope I'm proved wrong. but it's not like Bioware have been knocking them out of the park lately.
