Josh Welch, a second-grader at Park Elementary School in Baltimore, was suspended last month for two-days after school officials say he made an inappropriate gesture with a Pop-Tart, which he pretended was a gun. “You hear these stories and you’re like, ‘Wow, the kid got suspended for that?’” state Sen. J. B. Jennings, a Republican, told POLITICO. So Jennings introduced “The Reasonable School Discipline Act of 2013” into Maryland’s legislature last week. If passed — and Jennings says he’s not sure whether it’ll be put to a vote — elementary- and middle-school principals wouldn’t be able to suspend kids for drawing pictures of guns, making gun motions with their hands or pretending non-weapon objects, among other reasons.
If everyone had a pop tart, there would be no crime!
oooooo Billy made a mystical evil mock gun with his hand, off with his head
It's stupid that something like this even needs to be proposed.
If everyone had a pop tart, there would be no crime!
I'm not for the legalization of poptarts, just the de-decriminalization of them.
If he took a Toaster Strudle, he would be expelled for have a gun and extra ammo.
Please don't let this degrade into another poptart-control-debate...
In the UK no one has Pop Tarts and guess what, far fewer children get suspended from school. Only the police should be allowed to have Pop Tarts
In the UK no one has Pop Tarts and guess what, far fewer children get suspended from school. Only the police should be allowed to have Pop Tarts
Jesus Christ, here we go again. The UK never had the same Pop Tart culture the U.S. does. If you ban Pop Tarts in the U.S., only the criminals will have Pop Tarts. What a world that would be...
Please don't let this degrade into another poptart-control-debate...
Pop-tarts are part of American Culture. Every man woman and child has a right to own a pop-tart.
Pop Tarts shouldn't come two at a time unless someone can prove they need it.
Pop Tarts shouldn't come two at a time unless someone can prove they need it.
Look, our founding fathers never said anthing about 'snacking purposes' when it came to Pop Tarts. You should be allowed to own as many Pop Tarts as you damn well feel like.
Omg why do we have a pop tart debate in every pop tart thread.
You know it's gotten bad when we have to make legislation about what kids can and can't draw and what hand gestures they are allowed to make in school. :v:
Open your eyes you fools. The statistics don't lie. More pop tarts = more kids being suspended. You're fucking deluded if you think otherwise.
I feel like the liberals are planning some sort of pop tart based agenda.
If everyone had a pop tart, there would be no crime!
They should really ban these extended boxes... I mean who really needs a 12 pack of tarts??!?! They should only come in packs of 4.
It's the parents' fault, indecently exposing kids to poptarts early in age and teaching them how to be used! [editline]11th March 2013[/editline]
I eat pop-tarts every day.
you fuckin monster, I'm reporting you
Come to think of it, the real problem might be snacks in video games
If it wasn't for pop tarts, millions would find themselves defenseless to hunger!
I haven't had a pop tart in ages
God, I'm fucking disgusted at all you sociopaths, talking about pop tarts like they're toys.
First the government comes for our poptarts. Then it's our cinnamon buns. And then our danishes. Pretty soon you have to go to the state-run bakery to get any kind of decent breakfast treat. And then what do they do? They make toasters illegal. The Pillsbury dough boy is rolling in his grave.
And then what do they do? They make toasters illegal.
And if the government thinks they're gonna go after us bakers, then they can take it from my cold bread hands!

I always heard that Poptarts were gateway snacks into more hard snacks like apple juice
There's no correlation between children having Pop Tarts and how often they're robbed. No studies have been able to conclusively prove that introducing or removing Pop Tarts from an environment has any notable effect on the levels of crime in that area.
In the UK no one has Pop Tarts and guess what, far fewer children get suspended from school. Only the police should be allowed to have Pop Tarts
We actually have more than 2 flavors now. You know the government is corrupt now.
I can't tell what posts of this thread are jokes or semi-serious debates, it's hard to take anyone seriously with all this talk of Pop Tarts...
