Is it true that you don't start off with all units able to be used on the battlefield at first? and like you have to gain XP or buy units with real money and stuff?
That was CoH: Online, which is now dead I think
Yes, CoH:Online was canceled to make way for this.

You capture territory. There are fuel, munition and manpower sectors. Have you not played the first COH? [editline]29th November 2012[/editline] I'm so gonna buy dis shiat btw. Loved the first COH.
It's cool how RTS have more detail now than the first person shooters had 10 years ago, and in 10 years from now, if that, RTS will have the same detail as Crysis or Far Cry 3 I hope they made this not as tank spammy as the first, though
That was CoH: Online, which is now dead I think
I actually liked CoH online. For some reason, the gameplay felt slightly different than normal CoH. Also it was a free version of CoH that I could play with friends that don't have it :v:
Finally a game with ice that actually crumbles apart! COH has always been my favorite RTS (mostly because it's not uber fast paced like Starcraft and is more defense oriented) and can't wait for this one!
I really hope they release an expansion pack or a standalone game thats about the pacific war. To be honest thats what i wanted in COH 2 but this looks awesome too.
i thought they were making this in a way more new and improved engine cause this looks exactly like coh 1
i thought they were making this in a way more new and improved engine cause this looks exactly like coh 1
It does... Honestly kinda worries me... Honestly looks like a mod.
Yeah, after watching it again I've started to notice that it really doesn't look much better then CoH 1. The games got until March 2013 to improve so lets hope they use that time wisely.
I kept looking for things that the improved on in the engine but I don't see much. I hope they do a graphics overhaul or something, Coh is starting to look dated.
I don't really think COH's graphics are that dated at all, to me they still look very nice 6 years after it came out.
I almost cried!
Can't wait for this to not get nearly enough sales because THQ can't market for shit.
Every time I see a trailer for this game I think of this: I think I saw a few in the trailer :v:
i thought they were making this in a way more new and improved engine cause this looks exactly like coh 1
Exactly what I've been saying since the first screens were released. Honestly I'm not holding my breath for this, but that's probably because I've dug myself too deep into MoW:AS anyways. I'll most likely be sure to try this out anyways though, just as nod to the massive amount of time I spent in CoH back in the day. I hope they have as awesome, if not better, voice acting as the originals. Hope it doesn't turn out to be an imbalanced wreck that eventually just ruins the entire game like the previous too.
I think the last time I've ever known of a game to have ice breaking from under units was Tiberian Sun.
oh. this wasn't what i was expecting. isn't there a mod for coh that has pretty much already created everything here?
I think I'd rather play this than the Eastern Fronts mod again, that thing is the most unbalanced wreck that I've seen the game in any state.
I hope this and Metro can save THQ, they're one of the good publishers, IMO. Hopefully big YouTube personalities like TotalBiscuit and his crew will be able to help market them better.
I think the last time I've ever known of a game to have ice breaking from under units was Tiberian Sun.
Men of war
Kind disappointed that it's eastern front. Like everyone else has said it just looks like the eastern front mod with some tweaks. What really irritates me is this shit. http://www.companyofheroes.com/preorder I can only choose 1 of those tanks and then know that i'll never be able to play the other 2. It's not like they're obscure tanks either. It's between the KV-1, Tiger 1 and a T-34? I just really think this preorder things are really getting out of hand. And that's only for the regular retail version, if you want what seems to be a variant of the stug you need to buy the digital collectors edition from shopTHQ. I'm paying the full game price, I should get the full game. Just looked on the steam store and it says something about XP and Unit boost "Company of Heroes 2 Commissar Chest* In-Game Currency Gift to be Used Towards Purchasing Future Content XP Boost Unit Boost Commander Archetype" More unbalance between players. More fragmented player bases. I loved CoH1, but I hate pre-order things a lot more. All these pre-order bonuses tell me is that they have no faith in the actual gameplay and reviews they are going to get so they are trying to rake in as much money as possible from the start. (Yes I know THQ is on the verge of bankruptcy But 3 different pre0order bonuses is stupid)
YES, YES!
Might be in the minority here, but the Eastern front has always been my least favorite when it comes to games etc. I'd much prefer the Pacific theater of war.
Might be in the minority here, but the Eastern front has always been my least favorite when it comes to games etc. I'd much prefer the Pacific theater of war.
I find the Pacific to be really boring, eastern front and pacific are pretty much the most over done parts of the war.
visually doesn't really look that much better than the original CoH, but their are so many really really good new concepts in the game that I'm excited for it anyway.
I find the Pacific to be really boring, eastern front and pacific are pretty much the most over done parts of the war.
Are you joking? The eastern front and the pacific have gotten way way fewer games, movies and books than the western front. You've got to be joking.
A huge part of the Pacific Front was Naval and Aerial battles and raids, which you can't do in CoH which is based around small scale engagements.
