As Spin notes, Vedder doesn't mention any specific countries, but numerous Israeli media outlets have singled out the singer, claiming his remarks represent hostility toward Israel and its current military conflict with Palestine. "What the fuck? What the fuck?" he asks, observing the wonders of modern technology and advertising. "At the same time that something this positive is happening, at the same fucking time, not even that far away, they're fucking dropping bombs on each other. What the fucking fuck?"
Go deeper- what's fueling the conflict Cultural differences, namely religion War is a symptom of a greater problem
Religion isn't the only fuel to war and neither is cultural difference. It's want for territory and strong economy. If you removed the idea of religion from the world, we would still have wars over territory and political reasons. Fuck, most of the wars in history have been %100 political.
Wars are almost always political, playing on Religious difference is a good way of drumming up popular support. But the underlying cause of the conflict itself is almost always political. The Crusades were probably started so that the papacy could create a powerbase in the middle east while weakening the Byzantine orthodox church at the same time.
It's not like all those armies marched under the banner of god, conquered a nation, and then said 'Hm, better wait around and see what our pope thinks', no, they administered/pillaged/controlled that shit.

Anti Semitism!!!!
Go deeper- what's fueling the conflict Cultural differences, namely religion War is a symptom of a greater problem
War has been a constant for the entirety of human existence. I very much doubt its something armchair sociologists are going to solve, and thinking as such suggests a certain level of arrogance.
eddie vedder is still relevant?
in reality, the crusades were a much stranger mix of both people doing it for political gain and also because they believed in their religious ideals it was much the same for every other conflict of that nature
my favorite crusade was the 4th one where not enough people showed up for them to invade the muslim-controlled jerusalam as the original goal was, and those who did show up just said "fuck it lets sack Constantinople"
eddie vedder is still relevant?
no, which is probably why he said it
i'm gay for eddie vedder, he has the voice of an angel.
Go deeper- what's fueling the conflict Cultural differences, namely religion War is a symptom of a greater problem
I wish there was a face-slap rating.
Religion has shit all to do with this, this is pure fucking greed and egoism. Like my friend himself said; It's funny to be invited to protests FOR Palestine and Gaza, not against Israel, like they want us to pick a side in this WAR. Because this is war in it's simplest form, it really is.
I really don't like it when musicians start talking politics and stuff in concerts. If I'm at a concert I rather just hear music and have fun, not have some guy hammer his political beliefs at me.

The Crusades were primarily so that the Vatican could build a base of power in the Middle East, challenge the Byzantine, Greek, and Eastern Orthodox churches, and eventually gain control over those regions. There was also the need to move younger knights into non-European land so they could pillage and kill while still leaving enough peasants alive to do work for their lords. What better way to garner power for yourself then to claim you're doing the work of God?

Before they arrived in what is now Turkey and got massacred by a Muslim army that was waiting for them.
When I was at leads Eddie talked about less war too Not my Video
