The battery, provided by The Netherlands, "will help to protect the (southern) city and people of Adana against missile threats," it said in a statement on Saturday.
Man, that dude on the right looks completely miserable.
Something about the name "Patriot missile" bothers me.
Something about the name "Patriot missile" bothers me.
It's short for "Phased Array Tracking Radar to Intercept On Target".
So basically they came up with the name first and then assigned BS words to each letter afterwards.
If it makes you feel better our other missile is called THAAD.
So basically they came up with the name first and then assigned BS words to each letter afterwards.
No, that's how it operates, it uses phased array radar to track and intercept moving targets. Although they did most likely organize the name to deliberately spell out the word, it's generally nicer to have an acronym that can easily be pronounced as a word.
Patriot Missiles, reminds me of MSG4
Patriot Missiles, reminds me of MSG4
Reminds me of Patriot missiles. Because you know, these missiles predate Metal Gear Solid 4 by several decades and all?
Reminds me of Patriot missiles. Because you know, these missiles predate Metal Gear Solid 4 by several decades and all?
So? just because one came before the other doesn't mean one can't remind me of the other
So? just because one came before the other doesn't mean one can't remind me of the other
When I think of a system designed in the middle of the cold war in the efforts to prevent a nuclear holocaust I don't think of a video game.
"Their... Their WHAT missiles??"
Gotta love backronyms.
