We Must Stop All Research Into Extending Human Lifespans

I don't like the idea of scientists conducting research into how to extend the human lifespan with molecular nanotechnology and crap.
There's a biological cap on human years for a reason. There's just no way the planet could cope with people living to 200 years of age or more. Food, water and oil are already precious resources, I wouldn't want to imagine how expensive they'd be in an inevitable population explosion.
Unless we start colonizing space, which doesn't seem like it will be happening any time soon, where the hell would you put all these people?

No, there's enough food for everyone. We're human, we're designed to adapt, that's why we're still here, we can just change our ways if a problem arises.
Dont worry, by 2050 we will all be dead, normally :)
Why Facepunch?
I mean, of all things, Facepunch?
Birth control via drugs, condoms and policies requiring only one child per family. Done.
I'm planning to have myself cryogenically frozen so I can wake when space exploration kicks off.
I'll come back from the stars with amazing stories.

I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but birthrates are going down.
If you combine that with the fact that women are only fertile for about 30 years, I don't see a problem wth people living longer.
I want to live to be 200 years old.

just cause I can
I am scientists.
Okay woodlander, I'll stop.
Mass produce animals, food for eveyone.
OP do you want us all to start dying in our 50s like people in the 1800s and shit did?
I think we would be able to moderate it and with space exploration we could still have kids
Mass produce animals, food for eveyone.
Uh, we do that already. How many cows die a day? like 100,000? Every year is like a cattle, chicken, and pig holocaust.

the fuck is that image
how is that relevant
Just because of the OP, I'm going to live for 9,000 years.

How did that work out for China?
That country is now a nation-wide sausage fest.
A few hundred years ago, the "biological age cap" was around 60. Who's to say we're getting into troubled waters now?

Better than a nation-wide starving fest
In fact a sausage fest is the exact opposite heh

Don't get tricked into believing financial elite's overpopulation myth.
I read somewhere that humans can only live up to 125 years of age, as the oxygen we breath actually kills us. It's a slow process but I guess it just keeps going through you until you get poisoning or something, which takes about 125 years I guess.
I'm not sure if this is true, though.

I'd like to see a chart of population growth in the undeveloped world.

Wow, I've never heard of that. That sucks.
Still, couldn't we theoretically invent a vaccine or something to counteract that?

That has more to do with it's culture.

It's not. There are humans that have lived past 130. The odds of surviving that long are extremely small, but growing.
China is one of the largest countries in the world and has been inhabited with constant civilization for 3000+ years. Thats why there's so many people.
I'd like to see a chart of population growth in the undeveloped world.
Only a very tiny fraction of undeveloped world would have access to these technologies.

Nope.
Start a war. Solves everything. Derp.
China is one of the largest countries in the world and has been inhabited with constant civilization for 3000+ years. Thats why there's so many people.
No. It's because past leaders of China wanted there to be as many soldiers available to them as possoble, so people were urged to have many children. This ended up working a bit too well.
OP is silly. I plan on living to 200.
