Saw the trailer a few months ago, it seems to be full of his typical oneliners, deffo watching it
I can see that sword being used. If it isn't used in the whole movie, I'll cry.

The Sword Scene is actually a Conan reference.
God, it's so weird that Kim Ji-woon is directing an Ahnuld flick.
I'm torn between seeing this or Bullet To the Head.
The Red Band trailer is the best

This looks a lot like Walking Tall. Dunno if it's just me that go that impression but yeah!
Looks way better than Expendables.
"it's tongue in cheek - completely self-aware it's just a good old action movie paying homage to the old heroes of cinema it's what we all want to see it's for when you just wanna go to the movies and don't have to think a whole lot and just relax it's guns and shooting and arnie take it for what it is woo a sword I hope it's got zombies too and jokes about good ol arnie's age hey everything he says is a punchline that's okay cause it's tongue in cheek and absolutely justifies the shit writing".
Whatever, I'm getting tired of this kind of film - the "paying homage" gimmick is nothing but a lame excuse to make bland, boring movies for profit because people eat this shit up.

What the fuck is up with that car? (1:08)
The first trailer made this seem like a good movie
The red band trailer sold it for me

First off, this is the first film in years to have arnie in a lead role, and he's extremely famous for being in some cheesy action movies. Those types of movies are where he is best.

theres nothing boring about this movie, or the other movies (expendables and expendables 2) like it. They're just fun plotless movies, whats wrong with that?

no fun allowed
I enjoy a story line just as much as anyone in a movie, I loved Cloud Atlas. You know what though? This looks funny, and I'd definitely like to watch it. You can have a good in between. Not everything needs to be super serious, that requires an intellectual thought.
I can't remember the last time I watched a completely serious movie.

no critical thinking allowed
Hey it's not the lack of seriousness that bothers me about this movie. Predator, Terminator, First Blood, Aliens and Die Hard are all movies I really, really like and they embody or pioneered a lot of the tropes you see in these modern "homage" films. But those seem genuine and honest. To see Hollywood churn out half-assed shit like this and other movies like Expendables, Expendables II, A Good Day to Die Hard and the A-Team really gets to me because you can feel the cynicism and the reasons why they make these films. To make money. Profit is always going to be a motivation in movie-making, but when it's the only driving force it really shines through, rendering the movie soulless and lacking. If I wanted to laugh I'd watch a genuinely funny movie instead of wasting time and cash on this shit where you basically just sit and wait for it to end because you know all the jokes and you know where the plot is going the whole fucking time.
"There's gonna be guns and explosions" just doesn't cut it anymore. If I wanted that I'd just watch one of the original Die Hard films or go play a video game - saving time and money.

whoa whoa whoa
you did not just shit talk the a-team movie
that movie was such fantastic fun, just because all you see when you look at a modern screen is money and producers doesn't mean everyone else should. i see a movie that's both hilarious and action-packed with set pieces that felt genuinely fresh. the theater atmosphere almost doubles the entertainment value, to watch something in a room full of people that are enjoying it as much as i am.
its not even about "shutting your brain off", you dont need a movie to make you question your bleak existence on earth to have it be an enjoyable experience. or at least i don't. maybe you do! but that doesn't make the rest of us sheeple.
As I stated earlier - the issue doesn't lie in lack of seriousness or "artsiness" - it's lacking in the regard that it churns out the same old bland, pandering shit you've seen a hundred times before for huge profit. I have nothing against fun, light-hearted movies. In fact, most of the time that's the kind of film I want to watch. Pinning the "serious, artsy, brooding and intellectual" stereotype to me and rating me stupid doesn't aid you in this argument

Do you have any idea how pretentious you sound right now?

I'm sorry, I didn't know differing opinions were against the law. Read my latest post.
Arnold is still cool as fuck.
Its the last stand alright
The last stand of his CAREER
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Johnny Knoxville, Luis Guzman, Forest Whitaker and Peter Stormare. Of course I'm watching this.
This honestly looks pretty godawful
Arnie also has another movie in production where he's with Stallone and it seems like a prison escape movie.
This honestly looks pretty godawful
looks no better or worse than any other Schwarzenegger shoot-the-fuck-up-everything movie. The cheesiness and over the top action is what makes them enjoyable. And of course, Arnie.

Predator and Total Recall had more to offer than "arnie spewing one liners and shooting things"
This honestly looks no better than The Expendables movies which were awful
I'm willing to bet this will have more than one groanworthy forced callback
This looks like a good old "good guys vs bad guys" movie. No drama, no gray areas, just good old fashioned action with cheeky one-liners thrown in.
