I've heard people on facepunch throw around sarcastic phrases like "MLG 1337 noscope pro" and stuff along those lines. But what some of you might not realize. Starcraft 2 is the biggest game at MLG atm and here are some short clips from StarNation ( A documentary in development about sc2 esports ) This is the best one: and here are 2 more: I dunno.. I just wanted to try and share this amazing thing that is starcraft esports. And I thought this place would be alright since you guys are usually pretty open minded.
The thing about MLG starcraft is that I can't see how its fun, personally. You have to follow a strict build order down to the seconds or else you lose. I beat the singleplayer twice, played custom maps for a while and even tried some versus, it was all fun. But the MLG Starcraft scene just looks boring and repetitive. Just my opinion though. It's nice you are trying to show people that theres something more than mlg 360 noscope pro pwner though.

There is SO much more then build orders. Build orders is just the tip of the iceberg. Watching 2 players execute the same build order can be very different. And build orders aren't that perfect. There are alot of variations of each build. EDIT: And the fact there are so many different builds that essentially aim for the same goal make watching starcraft very exciting.
Man I fucking love SC competitions. I always watch GSL, MLG and the likes. It's just that the MLG scene in games like halo and Call of duty are terrible. Playing the MLG gamemodes on halo 3 just felt really stupid.
You have to follow a strict build order down to the seconds or else you lose.
Following a strict build order is exactly the thing you want to do if you want to lose. You have to adapt and be agile.
Following a strict build order is exactly the thing you want to do if you want to lose. You have to adapt and be agile.
Sorry but that's just incorrect. Sure you can change little things so you wont be as predictable. But most safe build orders are designed to be.. well.. safe.
That's the first time I have actually seen what Destiny looks like. Also the competitive SC2 community is probably the nicest I have seen. All of the major players know and treat each other like friends. Well there is a few exceptions...
I'm an avid watcher of sc2 competitions. We even host a barcraft in Florida, its awesome. Sitting at the bar with a few friends getting all these looks like "OMG WHAT ARE THEY WATCHING? WHERE ARE MY FUCKING REAL SPORTS?" It's quite the joy.
lmao what fucking losers
lmao what fucking losers
lmao what a bad troll.

What I hate about MLG is the idiots who claim to be "MLG" when they've never gone to a single tournament and all they've done is play the "MLG playlist" on Halo3. Those people I can't stand. The dude's in those videos, they're the legit people, the ones who can kick ass, the unlame ones.
Sorry but that's just incorrect. Sure you can change little things so you wont be as predictable. But most safe build orders are designed to be.. well.. safe.
I said strict. Safe build orders are another story, they're designed to get your ass into the late-game, where your ass shines. A strict build order is someone going "herp derp, he has 30 tanks in siege mode right outside my base and my build order tells me to build banelings, I'm building so many banelings." And then they get fucking nuked the second they come in sight due to splash-damage.

But most safe build orders are designed to be.. well.. safe.
he's right.... you can't just rely on safe/strict builds, this is why protoss are doing so badly in the pro scene at the moment, too much relying on safe tried and tested builds and not enough creativity or adaptability
There aren't any builds that nybody uses that go into the late game such as terran having "30 tanks". People do builds that goes about 8-10minutes into the game. And then you transition in any way you want out of that. Go find ONE build that tells you to make 20 banelings at the 14minute mark.
And now I'm gonna install Starcraft 2 again, just to get better at it. Thanks OP, now I'm gonna be locked up in my room for 3 months just like last time. SHIT.
hey maybe you'll fit in there more
ever seen SC threads on /v/? He won't even fit in there.
I think Facepunch makes fun of MLG because 12 year olds play "MLG Gamebattles" and think they are professional gamers
