• Idiot on Motorcyle Crashes into Truck Merging onto a Freeway

Wow does this guy not pay attention when getting onto the freeway??? People like this don't belong on the road on any type of vehicle. He's lucky the person in the SUV behind him wasn't texting and driving or he'd be in a much worse situation.
He's lucky to even be alive at this point. I'd be in favor of suspending his licence for a good while.
Looks like he lost control before he hit the car, he just went right over them lines Or he was just being a pillock
I wonder if it was intentional when he went through the solid lines, or it was due to his speed that he drifted through 'em. either way, guy got lucky. surprised the truck kept going after they got tapped by the bike.

Either way this dude needs some schooling on how to ride before he hurts himself or someone else really badly.
he was trying to accelerate too hard while leaning into a turn, when you do that your bike straightens out and you stop turning. you're supposed to accelerate out of a turn, not through it. he was being an idiot, but he wasn't not paying attention. also that crash wasn't that bad, he didn't get sucked under the tires or anything
surprised the truck kept going after they got tapped by the bike.
At least in my area people riding crotch rockets like that are pretty much the worst people carrying an attitude of "we're never wrong." So if one slams into your side you bet your ass they're going to try to blame you for it, so especially if you're on the highway, you just carry your ass along for your own sake.
Its hard to say but it seems like he was trying to merge too fast, probably because he was with his buddy and trying to show off. He was probably too afraid to brake since there's a pretty good chance that'd of caused him to crash, his only real option there was leaning harder but he was probably too scared.
what he should have done was come off the gas and lean harder
I bet he'll start wearing protective gear from now on
Looks like he lost control before he hit the car, he just went right over them lines Or he was just being a pillock
looking at the lack of protective gear, i'm assuming it's a guy (like 90% of american riders, sorry) that just bought a zx-10 or a gsxr 1000 and doesn't know how to control it or isn't very confident when i was just getting into riding i found myself in some dodgy situations where i was understeering, but wasn't confident enough to lean further over to get the angle of turning i need to make a corner and it looks like that's what happened here (as you can see he didn't even try to correct it by leaning more to the right) [editline]9th July 2015[/editline]
THIS IS NOT TARGET FIXATION! this is him coming into the turn to fast, and trying to slow down, thus bringing his bike upright, thus reducing his lean. Listen at 0:10 how they accelerate. He was clearly riding above his skill level. I have years of track experience, and see squids do this all the time. BUY GOOD GEAR, WEAR IT, TAKE A TRACK LESSON before trying to be cool on your R1

When a bike is leaning hard into the direction of turn but not following the turn radius this is usually a rider who is not properly counter steering. He is essentially fighting against the physics of his own bike and trying to use body lean to turn instead of letting the bike work for him.
quotes from the comments so yeah i'm pretty much right
Looks like he knew he was on camera so he was trying to show off by speeding around a curve. Failed completely.
There's also no way that truck shouldn't have pulled over ASAP.
There's also no way that truck shouldn't have pulled over ASAP.
Looked to me like the wheel of the bike just clipped the wheel of the truck, which to the driver of the truck would have sounded and felt like hitting a normal bump in the highway. They probably didn't even know they got rear-ended unless they by happenstance happened to be glancing in their right mirror when it happened.
I lol'd at the fact that pickup truck didn't even care about stopping. Every time I see motorcyclists without safety equipment (with only TShirts) i cringe hard, it's really asking for trouble to come.
People get distracted sometimes. Happens to everyone. Everyone who has a drivers licence does something stupid at one point. I did, and I bet everyone does at some point. Stress, lack of sleep, you name it. I for one - even though I never drove a motorcycle - almost hit a pedestrian crossing the road at a walkway last year. I came back from work and was so stressed that I wasn't paying attention. I only noticed a few meters back, and I stepped on the brakes so hard my car screeched. Doesn't mean I'm a reckless driver or that I do that shit on purpose. I learned my lesson as I'm sure the guy on the bike did. I hate it when people start condemning other drivers for their faults. Look at yourselves for fuck's sake. Everyone's done stupid mistakes. So no need to be screaming for blood on the poor man's licence. He learned his lesson. You know what was also dangerous? How close the guy with the camera was from the motorcyclist in front. I bet a lot of you guys also drive really close to the car in front.
We're tearing into this guy because he's being reckless, not because he crashed. Nobody's perfect but there's no excuse for driving like that guy was. You don't do that kind of shit on public roads.
