What a way to end the Harbinger short series.
Weakest of the three imo Still hyped for the expansion but making "prepared" into a catchphrase felt kinda eh
Holy shit this is amazing
Still very much dislike the expansion :saddowns:
I have never 180'd faster from hype as soon as I got into the PTR and demo'd the class changes.
I have never 180'd faster from hype as soon as I got into the PTR and demo'd the class changes.
THey're that bad?
THey're that bad?
Some of the classes are lacking because the end game is balanced around the artifacts and associated skills; without it you're incomplete. Given 100 is the max level any more, it's silly to judge the class changes while not level capped.
THey're that bad?
I've found that in an honestly good-intentions pursuit of always trimming down the fat, they cut off too much and things are too simplified. Of all the 3 classes I demo'd interest in, there is too much of a negative downtime to any rotation. As well as it feels a lot like "Changes made for changes sake." In pursuit of making BM Hunters feel more connected with their Pet, they shoved in gimmicky stuff that makes it feel more like a "Petmancer" class while getting rid of the cool unique shit like Adaption. Outlaw Rogue sounded promising, with the play on Pistols- but it's used for literally only 2 skills and 1 of which is a situational stun finisher that's weaker compared to the other options. It's just a gimmick animation thrown in, there's no pistol items or such thing like that. I thought it was going to be more of a GW2 Thief scenario, but nope. And of course Mages who actually need rework were indisputably decided that they're actually "in a great place already" and function pretty much the same. Say for water elementals being optional now and taking out any fun complexity that made Fire desirable. The issue I've come to realize is that Legion looks promising. And Promising isn't enough anymore. WoD's initial release was a blast- and then they did nothing with it. Blizzard haven't really proved that Legion isn't going to be another 'fun-for-1.5 months' scenario not worth dropping $65 on. And at this point the alt-timeline "bringing back da big names" schpeel is getting tiring. To the point where it's hard to get hyped at Illidan and his associated catchphrases.
I've been okay with all the pruning in the past, but they take it way over the top this time.
Yeah they stripped 99% of class abilities and made it incredibly unfun to play. "push butan, then push another butan, rinse repeat" They ruined mages by barely touching them, they destroyed Enh shaman and especially their survivability, they saw that Disc priests were unbalanced so they nerfed them to unplayability (and those are just the classes I main(ed)) Legion has another pathfinder achievement set thats much more grindy than WoDs, they didn't announce when the prepatch would be live until like a day before it was making anyone working on the ring quest feel like its pointless if they're not like at the last step (yes, lets remove even more content!) IIRC the silvermoon city royal guards are still level 80, the entirety of the BC regions are still no-fly zones, they've gone back on several promises, they made several classes talents even worse and less choice-based than before, artifact weapons are bland and they basically remove the urge to try new weapons, they (for the most part) removed glyphs (blizzard doesn't like people having customization apparently aside from xmog), they're -still- OK with multiboxers in PVP, the list goes on.
I've been okay with all the pruning in the past, but they take it way over the top this time.
That's what people say every time. The only thing I don't [sp]really[/sp] agree with is taking classes abilities away and hiding them away as content in the next expansion. That's like taking a family member's stuff away then wrapping them up as birthday presents
Another thing about the pruning is that it gives Blizzard the opporotunity to add different skills to the game, they have space to breath for adding creative new abilities to the game.
you'll be back.
I'm proud to be part of their declining sub numbers. There's a reason they're still hemorrhaging subscribers, last I counted they only had about 4mil
I'm proud to be part of their declining sub numbers. There's a reason they're still hemorrhaging subscribers, last I counted they only had about 4mil
blizzard stopped reporting sub numbers years a year ago and that was at 5.5 mil
blizzard stopped reporting sub numbers years a year ago and that was at 5.5 mil
You can still extrapolate a number from their profit reports

Sure, you can get a boost, but then you're just blazing through endgame and complaining there's no new content afterwards. If there's one thing I liked about Cata, it was the updates to the lower-level zones.

It feels like its all just shrinking more and more every Xpack. If they want to maintain a sub base they HAVE to provide more monthly updates. They wonder why WoW is failing when they take the money and stash it or put it into another project.
You can still extrapolate a number from their profit reports
MMOs just aren't as popular as they used to be, and the initial "Holy shit it's like a third person Warcraft 3 with all my favorite characters" wore off after Wrath of the Lich King in late 2008. Of course subs are going to steadily decline. I can't think of a game as old as WoW that has anywhere near a fraction of the playerbase.

Also on a personal note, making the game basically a solo adventure where you never had to interact with other people kind of killed the whole MMO aspect, which is what made me quit. While the whole hype of a new wearing off is true I still think they should have catered to the people willing to play more than a couple of hours everyday/week, the game isn't more fun because you get fed better gear for doing fuck all.
I don't think they will fuck up Legion all that much considering they are removing their yearly quota for expansion releases. They are going back to a slow and steady release of expansions so that the expansions are less like warlords of draenor and more like wrath in terms of quality. That being said I am a shitter and pre-ordered it
Anyone remember them nerfing Haunted Mementos into the ground because they were too lazy to fix a bug? I have zero faith in this "new" Blizzard. Also, slow and steady expansion releases is going to be even worse with their recent track record of not having any expansion content
Slow and steady expansion releases would be more akin to the amount of content that was in MoP, with probably less of a Year of Siege.
I still won't believe it until I see it. They've done little to convince me otherwise that a company making so much money can pump out so little content.
THey're that bad?
I think they're bad because everyone's still level 100, and the game is now built around being level 110, with skills, an honor system and artifacts that go along with those 10 additional levels. But everyone's stuck at 100 until the expansion drops, so everyone's incomplete. By a lot. They're still fine, but leveling is meh
Weakest of the three imo Still hyped for the expansion but making "prepared" into a catchphrase felt kinda eh
Yelling at people for not being prepared is half of his character though, he's like a magical doomsday prepper.
