• NASA apparently likes Portal 2, prints the "SPAAAACE" core on a part of a resupply craft.
That panel is a part of some sort, to be flown on a resupply craft to the International Space Station this coming Friday. "An anonymous tech at NASA," is responsible for laser-engraving Wheatley, the antagonist of Portal 2 the Space Core on the part, Valve said in its official Portal blog on Friday. "And please note that when we mentioned an 'anonymous tech at NASA' we weren't kidding," Valve added. "NASA in no way officially endorses secretly laser-engraving characters from Portal onto their spacecraft." I'll refrain from making jokes as they carry a spoiler hazard (it's a year after release, but so what). You either know why this is ironic already or have the means of finding out for yourself. It's a clever tribute to the game and the character. The full size picture is available at the link. [Correction] It's the Space Core. Both it and Wheatley end up in space in the game anyway
Source

You'd think this meme would get old by now.
they should have painted it on the side of a rocket or shuttle like they paint teeth or murals on planes
hot
You'd think this meme would get old by now.
Better than "the cake is a lie", at least.
The meme is getting kind of tired, but all in all this is the best use I've seen of it.
Protip: Link the image
I attempted it, but me using an android probably broke it, so I took it off.
I'll refrain from making jokes as they carry a spoiler hazard

Wheatley, the antagonist of Portal 2
A bit late for that, bud.
Memes aside, I think it's pretty cool Valve is being acknowledged by NASA. Maybe Valve will start selling rocket hardware?
You'd think this meme would get old by now.
but its not because space is NOt a lie XDDDD its the cake thats the lie LOL XdDDDDDDDDDD
This is a terribly written article got the joke completely wrong (everyone knows it's the Space Core) and then spoiled most of the fucking game by saying Wheatly is the primary antagonist and best of all, spoiling the brilliant ending with their terrible correction that somehow tries to justify naming an entirely different character Oh it's Kotaku, makes sense now
Memes aside, I think it's pretty cool Valve is being acknowledged by NASA. Maybe Valve will start selling rocket hardware?
Do you really want every country in the world to get tons of hardware for that? seriously think of the sales

This rocket is not available in your region.
I swear "In spaaaaaaaaaace!" is from something else. I used to say it when I was 15 (read: before Portal 2) for a while when it was quiet in class or something, and back then I could've sworn I got it from something else. Something old.
am i the only one who didn't like this game?
am i the only one who didn't like this game?
Play it again until you like it.
never mind
it's not really a meme, its a reference. Especially because its used on a spacecraft?
A bit late for that, bud.
You learn that he becomes the antagonist, what, like a quarter way into the game?
That's it. Finally the joke is over. And what a way to go out. It's had its ups, and then alot of downs (mostly downs) but it ends on a high note. RIP "spaaace xD" we love you 5ever
Stop being such a hipster
Did it ever really turn into a meme? I've just seen people reference it a few times since it came out, nowhere near as much as "the cake is a lie".
This meme was hardly even used, I don't see why everyone is complaining.
The spaaaaace is a lie
I never really got the SPAAAACE joke to be honest I went to party this one time and this I got to talking about Portal 2 with this guy and he immediately goes 'SPAAAAAACE!' and laughs like it's the funniest thing in the world I performed the most awkward chuckle ever
You'd think this meme would get old by now.
It's a homage to the character/valve/portal 2 not the meme
Stop being such a hipster
Getting sick of the gratuitous amount of Portal jokes that saturate the internet is not being a hipster [editline]22nd July 2012[/editline]
An old "guaranteed sequel" strategy was to do an "in space" sequel.

You're thinking of this.
No that's not it, that's not something I would remember from my childhood. It's specifically a game-show-ish male voice going "In SPAAAAAAAAAAAACE!" that I remember
