Those don't even change the meaning, they just make it seem more sensationalist.

The actual article title might be something like, "General Mattis says military intervention is among the possible responses to Examplestan situation," and the thread creator makes the thread title, "US preparing to invade Examplestan." It's not against the rules to post title other than that found on the article itself, as long as your choice of title accurately reflects the specific content of that article without twisting anything for the sake of sensationalism or your personal agenda. Generally speaking, just to play it safe: use the actual article title as your thread title.
