Third person in ArmA 2 worked most of the time, the cross-hair is meant to give a relative approximation to aiming down your sights (hence the middle post being mobile), but yeah, if you want to actually hit anything further than your nose, first person is a pretty good place to start.
I expect it's the same in DayZ, it was in the mod and I doubt the mechanics for it were able to change that much.
The sheer amount of denial that WarZ/ISS are one of the worst games in history in the YouTube comments is hilarious.
I am literally baffled how anyone can honestly think that it was a decent game.
DayZ standalone is in alpha.

They just have to remove third person all together, you can't possibly stop or expect people to stop from using this view in a certain way to get themselves an advantage. Especially in a game where dying can be very punishing.

Yeah I just looked it up on wikipedia, he is just listed as the producer for Infestation and the programmer and producer for Big Rigs.
I find it hard to believe a developer that created a game where it is impossible to even enter the water due to invisible walls could possibly criticize the game the company he was part of was trying to ape.
He isn't even a dev, he is just a poster boy for warz that was hired to stream warz.

Big Rigs was terrible because it was never finished. Mainly issues to do with the publisher if I remember correctly, or something along the lines. It would've probably been still terrible but not AS bad.
