i was expecting something like this

no subtlety at all and a really old joke
why does buzzfeed always come across as tumblr's tryhard cousin in everything they do
Wasn't funny at all, due to the fact it isn't accurate at all because they're generalizing a huge population of people off of a tiny ignorant minority, and trying to roll with role reversal based off that.
Yes, this may have been the way it was maybe 30 years ago, but in 30 years multiculturalism has come a long way.
Then again where I live every third person is asian, so its completely normal to me.
Funny n all but it does generalize like hell.

Because they are tumblrs tryhard cousin. I've seen a few of their articles which are practically just tumblr posts including the 1 second gifs
it wasn't that bad guys, geez, cmon. the way you're critizing a lighthearted video because it overgeneralizes makes you sound just like the tumblr users you are making fun of
Funny n all but it does generalize like hell.
...Yeah, that's the joke. Racist jokes are based off of generalizations and stereotypes.
itt: butt hurt white people

Actually no it's just really not funny and it's been done better before. I'm not deeply analyzing it, just bad writing. I love "stuff white people like", for instance and that's self deprecating while actually being funny and not feeling forced as fuck
maybe i'm just easily entertained but i cracked up when the asian chick forced her eyes open wide and was like "HEY LOOK AT ME! I'M WHITE!"

white people saying "hey look at the funny things we do" is not the same as a skit about how white people are unintentionally offensive to pretty much everyone
white people saying "hey look at the funny things we do" is not the same as a skit about how white people are unintentionally offensive to pretty much everyone
I guess not
I can't think of any better examples off the top of my head but this video was still extremely forced and I know it could be done much better. It's just kind of hitting you over the head with obvious exaggerations with no real thought behind it. All of these stereotypical "shit white dudes say" are pretty well known so in true Buzzfeed fashion it's just a compilation of things everyone already knows set to moving pictures.
not very relevent but this:

Spot the person who didn't get it.

Reminds me of this

Needs more "Are you guys brothers?"
lol a lot of the things in the video is completely true
there are so many times where i was asked "What is your real name?!" like i'm some kind of ancient demon or something
it's not offensive or anything it's kind of funny
your human mind cannot comprehend my true name

It's an arms-race for who can be the least tumblr.
"You're being just like tumblr!" "Nuh-uhh, you're just like tumblr!"

this kind of behavior has always made me wonder if there's users on other forums doing the same thing, going like "wow!! you're just like those shmucks over at facepunch!"
I suppose tumblr is a mixed bag and according to some people there's places you can hide in where it's pretty good. It's a blogging site and all the staff does (as far as I'm aware) is make sure that everyone's blog stays up. There's nothing inherently wrong with it - anything bad off of tumblr is just the fault of the people that went there.
Buzzfeed, on the other hand, churns out thousands of clickbait lists filled with stolen content. It exploits memes for monetary gain, and it tries to compete with similar sites by making videos like this. It's terrible on purpose.

it's really your own fault if you see content you don't want on your blog.
like, as soon as any of that stuff pops up you can use the xkit extension to block the post, blacklist keywords, or just unfollow the person. you aren't obligated to reply to or communicate with people outside of liking/reblogging so it's not like a regular forum where you see everybody's shit, so there's no excuse to sift through shit you don't like, or deal with people you hate.

Post some Facepunch posts on tumblr, let's get that going. Start with scouring videogame threads that mention the word feminist in them.

i bet even if i did that ironically somebody here a few months down the line would cite that blog as a reason why tumblr sucks.
Thanks tumblr now when I mention I'm a Gold Member on Facepunch Studios in conversation with other people they just laugh in my face and call me dumb.
Everyone thinks I'm mexican even if I'm not, and many times they ask me where I'm really from or just talk english to me. On the other hand, I can blend in with tourists when I'm doing street photography.

As someone who visits SA, yeah this happens
Facepunch is pretty much universally hated on most other internet places.
