I now have a reason to get a PS4.
Huh?
A city with a Helghast side and a ISA side? How does that work
How far into the game's timeline is this meant to be? They were using what was basically LR-300s in the first one, now Assault Railguns?

If you paid attention to the ending of Killzone 3 and introduction to the trailer, you can assume that [sp]24 years after the destruction of Pyhrrus and the surrounding landscape. Jorhan Stahl, along with a small group of Helghast, survived the petrusite bombardment and fallout. I'm guessing in the 24 years following Helghan's near annihilation, Stahl managed to amass a new army of Helghast to enact revenge on Vekta.[/sp]

24 years following the ending of KZ3, there could've been plenty of technological advancements in that time, or that technology was probably more readily available outside of Helghan. I think the rail/gauss rifle was only in the gameplay footage for showing off.
The gameplay seems boring as hell.
Maybe it's just the slowness of how they're shooting.
Seriously, is their sensitivity at like, .25?

But if it's about invading, a wall separating the two sides doesn't make any sense.
Both sides would have to agree to build that.

Nope, that's just the way you move in killzone.
It looks 'up to date' rather than "Next Generation". It looks like any other game coming out to be honest.
I love the Killzone series.
So I guess guns have no recoil in the future?
Doesn't look impressive or next-gen at all. Look at the texture at 5:12, it's literally just solid
[editline]22nd February 2013[/editline]
also why does every trailer/gameplay demo HAVE to end with the marine protagonist surrounded by huge monsters/ships
So I guess guns have no recoil in the future?
It both looks and sounds like they are all using belt-fed .22s.
It doesn't help when the person playing the game as terrible at it.
So I guess guns have no recoil in the future?
it's a railgun, you're literally shooting light at a person.
and you can clearly see there's recoil when he's on the rope shooting the pistol.
I feel like graphics have peaked. I remember looking at games like Crysis and Killzone 3, and being blown away. Now, pretty much every game looks like that. I don't think there's really a focus on graphics anymore, and I think that's a good thing. Now they can focus more on mechanics of the game world itself.

Bearing in mind this is a launch title and not something 5 years down the road when everyone knows how to exploit every part of the PS4.
How about a helghast story line? Gettin real tired if this ISA shit.
man game looks amazing, great setting and from what it looks like, great gameplay
but since its console game play, the player moves and aims like a tard

railguns don't shoot light, they shoot projectiles like anything else and depending on its muzzle velocity, a 9mm railgun might have quite a lot more recoil than a 9mm conventional handgun
killzone's guns and stuff have always looked sweet, this thing isn't an exception.
it probably fires small (.22 or whatever) slugs

That's bullcrap. There is always room for improvement in graphics, better fidelity (more polygons), better textures and much more complex shaders.
Killzone 2 blew me away and if this runs smoothly I think this will as well. Granted the game I most want to see on PS4 is Metro: Last Light on near max settings. That'd be sweet.
^ There is PLENTLY of additions effects you can add if given the hardware. Just imagine tesselation, parallax occlusion mapping, volumetric + godray effects and things like subsurface scattering on all the human characters, not to mention the improvements in A.I and physics.
EDIT: I think there is much a wall in the city as there is a wall dividing Minas Tirith (i.e I think it is aesthetic)

I am dumb.

I agree, but there's always room for improvement.

Ever since finishing Killzone 2, I've been hoping for something that put you in the boots of a Helghast soldier. There aren't many good things to look at when seeing the Helghast from the perspective of the ISA. They're practically portrayed as space Nazis (although they pull it off quite well and aren't exactly "good" to begin with,) I'd like to see something that allows me to sympathize with them (save for [sp]Pyhrrus being nuked in KZ2, and Helghan being annihilated by petrusite hellfire by the end of KZ3.[/sp]) You don't really get a good look at the people of Helghan in any other part of the series except for the intro to KZ1.
Looks pretty cool but I can't get over the feeling that almost everything seems very "un-Killzone"

Compared to Killzone 2 this game looks positively fast
I really wanted the next game to be a game where you play as a helghast soldier or something. I enjoyed the more realistic looking guns more than whatever the hell that is that trailerdude uses.
Am I the only one who thinks that the graphics are like ps3? I don't really see the next generation. I guess I have to try it myself when it comes out to judge.
There is no wall, the Helghast seem to have infiltrated parts of Vekta and will be wreaking havoc on its cities and people.
Yes there is. Look at the start and end.
The ISA part is all nice with nature, colors and all, while the Helghast part is full of pollution, skyscrapers with a red/orange taint, Helghan flags etc.
I always sympathise for the Helghast in these games, they've got it tough
Someone mind explaining the differences between the ISA and Helghast? I've only seen the intro for KZ1 and all I can figure out is that the Helghies were wrecked by the ISA and now they're trying to fight back with all new gear and whatnot?
ISA = blergh space america who gives a fuck
Helghast = holy shit british space nazis which have fucking cool architecture and technology oh my god I want it be one where do I sign up. Only they aren't Nazis they're actually just a society of people who became a major power despite the rest of the universe trying to hold them back and all they want is to be accepted in the galactic community.
If they released Killzone series on PC, I'd play the shit out of it, too bad its PS exclusive though.
