Not really new, but I just came across this movie stuck in production limbo:
Empires of the Deep is a 3D action-adventure fantasy film conceived by Jon Jiang, directed by Michael French, written by Randall Frakes and starring Olga Kurylenko. It was described by the production team as "an unlikely love story between a young human and a mermaid... set in a mythical world," against the backdrop of a war among the titular 'empires of the deep' such as the crabs. It is reported to be a major US-Chinese co-production, its production budget reaching over $130 million.

In December 2014 the movie was announced as complete and due for release in China in December 2015 after almost 5 years of post-production mostly coming from the visual effects, the budget is now well over USD$140 million. As of August 2016, the film remains unreleased, going through 4 directors, 10 scriptwriters and with many of the acting, production and technical crews still unpaid.
It's like a really bad and unoriginal short story for children
It looks terrible too
going through 4 directors, 10 scriptwriters
is this the DNF of the film industry minus the hype?

It is also political propaganda.
...based on Poseidon but with a geo-political patriotic twist featuring the South China Sea (as a Chinese territory).
This is probably gonna make so much fucking cash in china (once it gets released)
it can't not (what the fuck are they waiting for)
I wonder what horrible scandalous dirt the director has on Olga Kurylenko to force her involvement in this.
Release it. Always need more Rifftrax fodder, and there is the MST3K reboot coming too
god the CGI is really fucking bad
We need more movies to ensure the future of How Did This Get Made? is a bountiful one!
the trailer looks like it may be the candidate for the most cliche movie trailer ever
I could write the script for this...
thsi looks pretty cool i hope it gets released soon
All of those lines are so cliche it hurts.
looks real bad I would totally go see it
From the thread title I was expecting some Movie rendition of a H.P Lovecraft story
looks real bad I would totally go see it
why dude
anyway, the most expensive? really? it looks pretty crude for that, but then again its not released yet.
dude i seriously love cheap ass adventure films, the Mythica series is awesome as well and SAGA: Curse of the Dragonslayer is a classic
this is like a big budget version of those, i love it
It looks like something made to benefit The Producers.
I can hear the fanbase of Monster Hunter cry of jealousy of this masterpiece.
What?
I wonder what horrible scandalous dirt the director has on Olga Kurylenko to force her involvement in this.
Money
She's probably the only person who actually got paid what it says they got paid on the payroll. Everyone else is just there for money laundering.

Why should I be jealous?
-snip-
The inconsistencies in SFX quality is amazing.
One shot everything looks pretty neat and somewhat modern, then the next shot it looks like they hired a horrible Ray Harryhausen copycat to animate everything..
I'd still watch it tho
