Theresa May 'refusing to take press questions she hasn't pre-approved', claims Michael Crick (C4)
A senior political commentator has accused Theresa May of refusing to take questions from journalists unless they have prior approval to speak.
Channel 4 political correspondent Michael Crick claimed a member of Ms May’s campaign team told him not to bother raising his hand to ask a question as he “wasn’t on the list".
He also claimed another reporter had been told journalists’ questions were being vetted ahead of campaign events, in a series of barbed accusations directed at the Prime Minister’s campaign team during an event in York on Tuesday.
Absolutely pathetic.

No, it's the Sign of a Strong and Stable government, duh. /s
How is this not sending the public crazy? They'll happily freak out when Nige says something outrageous or Cornyn breathes so why not when this old bat is clearly being slimy?
I live in York and it says a lot that Jeremy Corbyn stood on a box in the town centre to speak to people while Theresa May took pre-arranged questions in a discrete location. I'm not Corbyn's biggest fan but his engagement with the people shines above May's dodging of public discussion.

God this is old news - this blow-up a few days ago and has been proven to be inaccurate.
First, other correspondents contradicted him:

Then CCHQ got involved:

The idea was they checked who was asking questions to ensure that all media outlets got a fair chance to ask questions. They didn't care what questions the journo asked, they were trying to be fair to everyone. Michael Crick is a very vocal journalist who always has a question to ask but other journalists should have a chance too (a bit like the Teacher's pet at school - "let someone else answer the question").
But now they've given up on that idea due to the mis-informed bad publicy that Crick generated:

Because the media in the UK has vested interests in keeping this old croney in power.

I was too quick to buy into Channel 4.

Because they think "Woman PM" and thoughts of Margaret Thatcher rush back into their minds.
