wow, those outlines... for a computer graphics course I took, one of the projects was to write a shader which drew lines just like they have. my initial shader was pretty buggy and looked a lot like the thing in the game, but I managed to fix most of the issues. it's kinda sad looking at this, seeing a case where the outline rendering fucks up, and knowing how to fix it

I doubt it's even a shader, they probably just took every model, made a duplicate of it, pushed it out a bit, flipped it and made it black. That's like the oldest cheapest simplest and worst way of doing outlines like that.

idk, there are actually a few glitches which I don't think would be possible if they did that (e.g. outlines drawing on the guards' faces)
Meta Critic's userscore of this game is 1.2, matching Ride to Hell
That's pretty bad
"Don't press Enter, it breaks the game"
Haha, oh wow. And the amount of things with no or dodgy collision, jesus christ.

that's a thing? is there an example of this? that's the dumbest thing i've ever heard. you're literally doubling the geometry for everything in the game in order to get a shader effect. wtf

It's actually rather cheap to do it that way, or at least it was back in the day when full screen post processing was not a thing.
