On the heels of this week’s big “Tetris” video-game-to-movie news, the forthcoming “Angry Birds” animated film announced their voice cast, a who’s who of comedy. The part of the Red Bird will be voiced by Jason Sudeikis, along with Josh Gad (“Frozen”) as Chuck the Yellow Bird, Danny McBride as The Bomb, and Peter Dinklage as the Mighty Eagle.
Is this Sonic Boom?
Giving the birds limbs looks really weird and uncharacteristic to me.
I thought this movie was a joke
Oh god why
This franchise has been pushed in every direction imaginable obnoxiously hard. Who the fuck is going to go and see this? All the idiotic merchandise everywhere I can sort of understand but do they seriously think that this movie is going to work?
I am still trying to come to the terms with the fact that Angry Birds will be a movie.
Man, and I liked Sudeikis/McBride :/
So wait....BOTH Tetris AND Angry Birds are getting movies?
WHO THE FUCK COMES UP WITH THESE IDEAS!?
All I see of this is totally fucking with the art style. You'd reckon that at the very least, they'd just stick some feathers and shit on the normal models, not come up with this entire new style that will only be used for this movie (and the inevitable video game) and then never again.
Awful aesthetic choices aside, the movie is called Angry Birds, and yet only one of the three seems mildly perturbed at most.
At least this will make the voice work of Bobcat Goithwait and Dennis Leary in the inevitable Marble Madness movie seem better. As well as the horrific CG faces they will tack on both marbles. Seeing as the bottom of the barrel has broken and all since there really is a friggin' Angry Birds movie, now no game is safe.........

Still, I'll enjoy seeing "Angry Birds: The Game: The Movie: The Game" on Steam.
It's from the same people that made The Smurfs movie, so yeah
don't expect quality
not that you would anyways
I love how they're like twelve years too late for this. It's the same thing as the fucking Grumpy Cat movie coming out next month instead of 2012. You would think that the people who make this stuff wouldn't want to go through the pains of making a movie out of something so transient as these fads and memes because it's way too much effort for something that will be obsolete upon release, but oh well.

Edit - I'm wrong, it's here too... Help.. Me.. :tinfoil:
Angry Birds is still massively popular for no real reason, there are entire Angry Birds sections of amusement parks now
Wait, Angry Birds getting a movie wasn't a joke?
Angry Birds will get huge again around when the movie comes out. If Frozen and Cars can have merchandise and amusement park rides, why not Angry Birds? You may see it as a flavor of the month app game but it's still extremely popular with kids and it's certainly deserving of becoming a franchise name due to how little they've done with it so far and how much they have to work with (this is a game and a world where we know nothing other than pigs are assholes and the birds are destroying their stuff because they're angry).
I like how everyone's saying it's going to be absolute shit without recognizing that Angry Birds is still a fairly relevant IP - almost all of the games are well-received. Plus, it's being directed by the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs guy and someone involved in Wreck-it Ralph and Frozen.
Not to mention, it's a kid's movie - the audience isn't exactly hard to please.
I bet it'll do okay. It's not going to be a Toy Story, but I really doubt it'll crash very hard, especially considering that Smurfs made over 5 times its 100 million budget and warranted a sequel.

That's the problem. Kids movies can be really great (Nightmare Before Christmas, Toy Story series, Lion King, etc.) but effort is rarely put into them, and they still make millions off of it. It's depressing. It's going to be shit, but that doesn't mean it won't make tons of money.
Cue claims that Finland supports terrorism because the exploding bird destroys a building in the film
Its so funny when Facepunch gets worked up over shit like this. This stuff is for kids. It might be mindless garbage but if the children enjoy it then what the fuck is the problem.

Wake up sheeple!!!!!!!
I THOUGHT IT WAS A FUCKING JOKE.
THIS IS ACTAULLY REAL? what the fuck man, how can you even make a movie out of this?
