Wait does resetting your CMOS really void your warranty? Because I've done it in the past. Does that only apply to pre-built computers or will it void the warranty on the motherboard?
IIRC opening your case and fiddling with the inside will void warranty.
Only with a prebuilt system, with a custom build resetting the CMOS will not void the warranty.
Only with a prebuilt system, with a custom build resetting the CMOS will not void the warranty.
Pretty much this.
Why would you need to reset the cmos? Out of interest.
Why would you need to reset the cmos? Out of interest.
Let's say you somehow fried your HDD and your last hope was to reset your CMOS.
This is silly, and most motherboards have a jumper switch not a fancy button. And you're supposed to keep the computer plugged in with it turned of at the socket for grounding.
Let's say you somehow fried your HDD and your last hope was to reset your CMOS.
That makes no sense. If your HD is fucked, how does resetting the CMOS fix that?
This is silly, and most motherboards have a jumper switch not a fancy button.
Why would you need to reset the cmos? Out of interest.
Lets say your discrete GPU has kicked the bucket, and your computer is set to use the PCI display device instead of the IGP. Well, reset your BIOS and everything starts working again.
Skinny arms, dark basement bedroom, no content in video.
This is silly, and most motherboards have a jumper switch not a fancy button.
That's the entire joke.
and....hands...!
Man, I don't say things like this often, but this thread is just painful to read through...
