Quick refresher, this is the same charge that George Poppadopolous plead guilty to. Since Flynn is “due in court shortly” it will be interesting to see how he pleads. If he pleads guilty, it’s essentially confirmation that he is cooperating with Mueller.

apparently reports indicate he's going to plead guilty to one count, which suggests that Mueller got his claws in him not posted in the OP because it's not in the BBC article

Okay, so this is basically confirmation that Flynn made a plea deal. They had Flynn on [I]way[/I] worse shit than this, so if the only thing they're actually charging him is "making false statements" (same thing they charged Papadapoulos with), then it is almost certainly because Flynn is taking a deal and testifying against other members of the Trump admin. This is pretty fucking huge if/when confirmed.

Flynn has been the obvious 'next target' for a while now. If he's down, who's next on the list? Sessions? Kushner? Trump Jr?

A plea deal like this means two things: 1) Flynn has to have already offered sufficiently incriminating evidence to be extended the deal, meaning that Flynn may have been cooperating with Mueller's team for some time now, and also potentially meaning that Kushner's interview with Muller's people last week happened on the heals of Flynn offering testimony. Kushner could well have been being tested by Mueller's team to see whether or not he was forthcoming about the information that they had received from Flynn. If caught in lies, Kushner is another domino to fall. 2) The only people above Flynn that he could have "flipped" on were Donald Trump and Mike Pence. A deal would not have been offered for Flynn to flip on people on the same level, or lower level, than he himself served in the administration, unless the information he offered was sufficiently damning as to bag [B]several[/B] other key targets of the investigation. In either case, it's bad fucking news for the Trump admin.

Can’t help but feel that people are shoving all of their eggs into a Dixie cup here... Yeah he may have a plea deal but for all we know it could have been stuff on Manafort or even something unrelated to the main investigation. People are putting wayyyy too much stock into Mueller imo rather than trying to seek out worthwhile candidates

And the way plea deals work is you get it if you rat one someone higher than you. Trump should be fucking scared rn.

I dunno. Just feels like a wild goose chase that they painted as an organized investigation. I seriously doubt any significant thing will come out of this hearing, or if anything does, we won’t see it for another year or more. Again, people come up and say how good the investigation and Mueller are, but never seem to address my point that nobody is searching for new candidates or anything along those lines.
