WESTPORT — Martin Cutler cursed God and the Catholic Church as he left St. John the Baptist Church in Westport on March 1, police alleged. This, after he urinated into the holy water font, investigators say. Cutler, 29, 73 Broadway Ave., Taunton, was arraigned Monday in District Court on nine charges, including the charge of using infected bodily fluids to injure another. Westport Police also charged Cutler with committing a hate crime. Police alleged he broke into the church, deliberately damaged sanctified objects and urinated into the holy water font knowing he is infected with hepatitis C, a communicable liver disease. He must wait to learn his punishment for that in the next life. In this one, he faces the possibility of life in prison. Prosecutors must now determine how to proceed against Cutler. If they keep the charge of using bodily fluids to harm another, the case will have to be presented to a grand jury to determine if it should be prosecuted in Superior Court. That charge carries a penalty of up to life in prison. Rather sensationalist title. It doesn't mention the fact that he broke into the church, vandalized the place, and knowingly pissed into holy water, knowing he is spreading hepatitis c.
Sounds like a dick.
Rather sensationalist title. Not murdering someone, not committing sex crimes against children, urinating. The fact that it was in holy water is meaningless.
He's in a pretty pissy situation
What a pissant.
Life in Prison is a bit much don't you think?
urinated into the holy water font knowing he is infected with hepatitis C
That is probably part of the reason.
seems like the legal system is very pissy right now with their sentancing [editline]21st March 2013[/editline] was he intoxicated or not, that would help determine if it was a hate crime or just a drunk idiot, any little bit helps
Yeah, silly christians, I mean, if he was successful, what? A few babies would die and others would face permanent liver damage? What an overreaction.
The point is he could face life in prison for urinating. Not murdering someone, not committing sex crimes against children, urinating. The fact that it was in holy water is meaningless.
Well, intentionally spreading Hep C to a bunch of people (including small children and the elderly) is a pretty fucking big crime. If he'd done this in, say, a water cooler at a community center, it would still be a gigantic shitfest for him. So yes, the fact that it was in holy water is meaningless, but it also isn't necessary for him to face life in prison, so I'm not sure why your jimmies are so rustled by it.
This is really sensationalist. The article actually says that if the prosecutors press charges for use of bodily fluids to harm another, he can have a maximum sentence of life, which isn't gonna happen for pissing in holy water. It'd happen for, I dunno, if a paramedic got infected with HIV and started licking every needle he used, for example, and went on doing that for a year, resulting in the death of a large population.

People, including the OP, really need to read the full thing. As plenty of others have stated in the thread already... THE GUY HAS HEPATITIS C If you don't see the seriousness of that, then, well, you are apparently retarded.
Picture of the culprit.
jeeesus can we move on from this crap yet haha yep!! you referenced a game you play!!
jeeesus can we move on from this crap yet haha yep!! you referenced a game you play!!
He didn't post that just to reference to a game. The joke fits with the news article. Let people have a little joke instead of being an asshat about it.
Good. He could have caused serious complications with peoples bodies.
There's a vaccine for hepatitis c being developed.
The point is he could face life in prison for urinating. Not murdering someone, not committing sex crimes against children, urinating. The fact that it was in holy water is meaningless.
actually the fact that he did it to holy water on purpose makes it a hate crime. plus hepatitis c???? get over your hate for religion and see this man for who he is.
There's a vaccine for hepatitis c being developed.
hep c for everyone!
jeeesus can we move on from this crap yet haha yep!! you referenced a game you play!!
you're the reason that "no fun allowed" image (and others like it) are bannable.
Picture of the culprit.
Urine a lotta trouble m8
What? Hepatitis C can't be caught or transferred through urine. It's blood to blood only (Or (Rarely) transferred through sexual contact)
I'm pretty sure urine is sterile lol, unless he had some hematuria I don't see how it would be considered infectious bodily fluids. Christ, piss isn't even considered hazardous waste at the Hospital I work at so I'm pretty damn sure.
The point is he could face life in prison for urinating. Not murdering someone, not committing sex crimes against children, urinating. The fact that it was in holy water is meaningless.
Yeah because infecting water that is going to be later used for baptizing children is totally not a terrible fucking thing to do. Life is a bit too much but fuck this guy deserves a lengthy sentence, this is some villainous shit.
Yeah, urine is sterile unless something else is going on wrong, and I doubt that's the case for this guy, probably just getting shit thrown at him for where he pissed.
keep in mind that it does have to pass through your urethra though, so afaik the urine probably wouldn't be sterile unless you've got a dick made of stainless steel or something
Life in prison is kind of overkill.
keep in mind that it does have to pass through your urethra though, so afaik the urine probably wouldn't be sterile unless you've got a dick made of stainless steel or something
No urine is sterile, so if you culture it any growth is a sign of infection as long as it was collected properly. Just because it passes through the urethra doesn't make it non-sterile. That being said, even if it wasn't, Hep C is not known for being transmissable through urine. But vandalising a place and urinating in a water that will be used by many people while infected with a blood transmissable disease is stupid, nothing that warrants life sentence though.
