Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump said in a new interview Friday that persecuted Christians will be given priority over other refugees seeking to enter the United States
http://edition.cnn.com/2017/01/27/politics/trump-christian-refugees/index.html
Are you kidding me? why???
Naturally. Drag in a bunch of (probably) conservative-leaning people who agree with your religion and who (probably) agree with Republican policies about abortion, LGBT rights, creationism vs. evolution, religion vs. state, etc. That way you can increase the number of your supporters. It also gives the Christian fundamentalists who already live in this country another reason to support you.
Why should their religion matter?
exactly
Are you kidding me? why???
Because some people refuse to believe that Christianity isn't America's state religion.
and how do you even prove you're a Christian, would immigration officers ask you to eat pork or something lol
if you're white
Why should their religion matter?
Because the POTUS and his Cabinet hate Muslims.
and how do you even prove you're a Christian, would immigration officers ask you to eat pork or something lol
If Trollhunter taught me anything, it's that Christians have a special scent to their blood.:v:
Because the POTUS and his Cabinet hate Muslims.
I know their ideological horseshit is the reason they are doing this. But how do they justify this to anyone? How do they enforce it?
Sounds familiar
This seems like it is setting a dangerous precedent.
Maybe it is because christian refugees from majority-muslim countries are persecuted and don't enjoy the same freedoms and rights there - and therefore have a much stronger claim for asylum then their muslim refugee counterparts from said country? They're a minority.
Maybe it is because christian refugees from majority-muslim countries are persecuted and don't enjoy the same freedoms and rights - and therefore have a much stronger claim for asylum then their muslim refugee counterparts from said country? They're a minority.
What about the Muslim refugees from Syria fleeing the war? They also have a strong claim to asylum, do they not? Again, how do they determine objectively who's Christian and who's a Muslim?
What about the Muslim refugees from Syria fleeing the war? They also have a strong claim to asylum, do they not? Again, how do they determine objectively who's Christian and who's a Muslim?
The minority that is persecuted always have a stronger claim.
I'm still not used to the term "President Trump" tbh

They're a minority.
Yeah, just look how many times in Europe in the last few years there were situations where we had to put Christian refugees from the Middle East into shelters with only other Christian refugees because Muslim refugees threatened them and assaulted them. Those Christians aren't safe around people from that part of the world. Even when they are refugees in other countries, those pieces of shit still can't leave them alone.
What about the Muslim refugees from Syria fleeing the war? They also have a strong claim to asylum, do they not? Again, how do they determine objectively who's Christian and who's a Muslim?
It will be a highly advanced and new form of screening protocol never before seen or implemented before. Even the TSA won't possess such specialized equipment. See, for anybody seeking asylum, they will be asked to do one thing: eat bacon. It's genius and infallible. If they eat bacon, they are free to pass. If they refuse, back of the line. It's flawless and can never be wrong. More importantly, those who eat the bacon will already be on their first step to becoming true assimilated American citizens. What true American hates bacon?
Except the muslim refugees are also persecuted.
Read the post above your post and you will see why they have a stronger claim. The muslim refugees persecuted persecute the christian refugees persecuted. They are savage in their persecution of christians, even when taken in by Europe they go on with their persecution. The best for all parts would be if Europe and predominantly "christian" nations took in mostly christian refugees since they often share the same values as the host countries taking them in. And then the same will be done with muslim refugees and muslim countries. It would be easier and better for everyone.

Trump's gotta realize that you can't take a hacksaw to every problem, some stuff needs a scalpel.
The same reasons for every other decision he's ever made as President. Money and/or growing nationalism
How does this have anything to do with money?
Are you kidding me? why???
Fundamentalism and identity politics
Not proven a significant portion of them do + religion is a poor indicator of behavior = this reasoning is not suitable to use in policy determining decision making Also, savage? Really? I dont want to shitpost like "lord m hates brown people lol" but you should also make it harder for people to say those things, shouldnt you?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution_of_Christians#Persecution_of_Christians_in_the_Muslim_world Just one of the countries quoted:
Saudi Arabia is an Islamic state that practices Wahhabism and restricts all other religions, including the possession of religious items such as the Bible, crucifixes, and Stars of David.[270] Christians are arrested and lashed in public for practicing their faith openly.[
Maybe to you that is gentle, but to most that is savage. I see your agenda of trying to downplay their suffering. As soon as someone is critical of islam it is "this person hates brown people". Find a new mantra, it is worn out and lost its color.

So they might as well pick the ones that are known for not starting shit or unrest. Secondly, Lord M only strongly implied that predominantly muslim countries do savagely persecute religious minorities and other minorites, which is generally true, and especially in the Middle East. Say, Trebgrata, why do you always accuse people of racism when they speak out against Islam? Don't you have any better argument than that?
The same reasons for every other decision he's ever made as President. Money and/or growing nationalism
I prefer pandering
It's hilarious reading the comments in this thread. I'm of Assyrian ethnicity and my relatives in Iraq have been persecuted for over a century. I'm the last person to agree with Trump but it's nice to be remebered once in a while. The west has ignored the plight of the Christian minorities in the Middle East for many a decade so to see someone (even as despicable as Trump) shedding light on this situation is refreshing. And just so you guys know, its very easy to tell the difference between Assyrians and other ethnicities in the region. Assyrians have a distinct culture and their own language. It would be very easy to test for that.
