People trust their doctors and doctors trust pharmaceutical companies who in turn trust in profits from selling more drugs. True, opium is the best for pain management but why make an addictive substance more addictive through a similar manufacturing process as cigarettes? I get eff'd up too but damn why you gotta make the cocktail so hard? I often times hear people say, "well my doctor prescribed them to me." In the case of GMOs, maybe this too, is a similar scheme?
Pill popping isn't new people just don't take it as serious. When the should. Prescription drugs can be very addicting. Also use media tags.

What I find interesting is how many pharmaceutical drugs out there are 'worse' in terms of addiction than say, marijuana. Yet society cracks down more on (medicinal) marijuana users, who benefit from using it, yet they're looked down upon simply because it is marijuana, due to all the social stigmas involved. A plant that requires little effort to make medicine from. Yet, pharmaceutical drugs are more accepted because they are pharmaceutical drugs, perscripted by a doctor, and therefore 100% ok, despite the side-effects they may contain. My mother used anti-depressants. When she wasn't on them, she felt like total shit, because she was constantly craving the pills.
