I always found the idea of Trunks heading up a task force to prevent people from changing the future to be a little hypocritical.
even weirder considering DBZ has shown that changing the past doesn't effect the future you come from. Damn multi-verse theory.
even weirder considering DBZ has shown that changing the past doesn't effect the future you come from. Damn multi-verse theory.
Considering [sp]the gods of the universes made it a rule to not travel backwards in time since time should only flow in one direction to prevent multiple timelines rather than universes[/sp] it really isn't that weird. For Dragon Ball it isn't, at least. It's technically not multiple universes being made but rather timelines which contain universes. :v:
I always found the idea of Trunks heading up a task force to prevent people from changing the future to be a little hypocritical.
The Supreme Kai of Time sort of forced him into the role through a half-lie, half-truth because she was lonely AND because time alterations were getting out of hand due to his and Cell's shit. [sp]And, depending on how the current arc in Super unfolds, potentially that as well.[/sp] Besides, the Time Patrollers are pretty much doing what he did, except less exposition to the people they're saving and more just participating to 'correct' the timeline or finish a horribly fractured one in the case of the Parallel Quests. The fact that the Androids and Cell being defeated is the correct and main timeline shows ultimately that Trunks was pretty much justified in his overall actions.
Shame, the build-your-own-character took a LOT out of the game. There is zero point in unlocking characters, because you just equip yourself with the be-all-end-all moves and spam the same ones over and over. Really want a DBZ game that brings back the traditional roster. Xenoverse was fun, but got really stale later on when you were forced to cheese to do anything.
I mean, your custom character is the one that has to do the main story and initial runs of random NPC PQs/Master PQs, it makes sense that you get the prime focus. All the other characters were opponents or allies and just playable in the side content out of necessity, this isn't exactly trying to be Tenkaichi Budokai but rather more of a pseudo-MMO. Which saddens me a bit because that means the original Dragon Ball won't see much representation outside costumes/techs and references, since the series' scaling is so fucked now.

No pc ?
http://store.steampowered.com/app/454650/
I will say that the closed/open betas next month seem to be PS4-only, though. While the game's getting graphical improvements over the previous one, i'd say they're mostly environmental texture improvements and some new shit like the debris floating neat you while powered-up alongside the larger open hub spaces; if XV1 ran fine on your PC hopefully you shouldn't have trouble with XV2 unless they botch the port this time.
Black Goku/Goku Black (whatever it is) and Future Trunks are playable. I wonder if there will be any other Super characters added down the line.

One thing I hope they change tho is regen (of any kind, HP or Ki) being tied to fps. Someone who could run uncapped would have a slight advantage over someone with 30fps or 60fps caps. The game also even recognized my old ass controller without having to use x360, with the correct numbered buttons and all. It's the only game in my library so far to do so.

I really would like a Tenkaichi 4 or an HD collection of Tenkaichi 1-3. Hopefully Xenoverse 2 is more balanced than the first game. Super Saiyan was so god damned broken.
Hopefully Xenoverse 2 is more balanced than the first game. Super Saiyan was so god damned broken.
Super Saiyan no longer gives you infinite supers, or what ever the problem was. Also IIRC, SSJ is a single power now, you don't need to slot 2 and 3.
For me, the strength of DBZ games are their roster. CAF is interesting in some games like Soulcalibur, but it just fell flat for me in Xenoverse. And I can't really imagine a way it would be any more fun in the sequel. It felt like so much emphasis was put on CAF above anything else. I hated having to train under different characters, the hub world was annoying and time wasting, the versus mode was lacking, combat was somehow even more simple, the rewards system was tedious. I liked the idea of Xenoverse, but all I want out of a DBZ game at this point is a new Tenkaichi series. Get a solid roster and work out a fun fighting system and I'm happy. And don't waste time remaking the entire DBZ story again. One positive I can give to Xenoverse is that they tried to do something different with the story. That being said I can totally see why people like Xenoverse, and it's nice to see DBZ still going strong after all these years, but I'll be taking a back seat on this one.
