hopefully they'll not recon Laureline being [sp]from the 11th century france and they're both time travelers[/sp]. After watching the anime I became a fan of the franchise so I'm hoping it's a great movie that will have great sequels.
So... why did they just steal Mass Effect's logo? The original story didn't have that.
why did dane dehaan sign up for this
DeHaan is a great actor but he has a habit of casting himself in the shittiest roles that do a piss poor job of showing off the fact he's actually good. This movie looked super dumb.
I don't believe Luc Besson can really fuck up that badly so this will surely be at least enjoyable.
I dunno man I'm getting Jupiter Ascending vibes but it feels so good to have a sci-fi movie that's weird again
yeah I get those vibes too I also get wicked Fifth element vibes
yeah I get those vibes too I also get wicked Fifth element vibes
Funny you should say that because the guy who directed Fifth Element is the one directing it
Funny you should say that because the guy who directed Fifth Element is the one directing it
Yeah I know, Luc Besson, he's a good director
I still say this looks visually more striking than most sci-fi movies i have seen in the past few years. More so than guardians even and whatnot. And if its anything like Fifth Element it might be pretty damn good.
Yeah I know, Luc Besson, he's a good director

I don't believe Luc Besson can really fuck up that badly so this will surely be at least enjoyable.
lucy The issue is besson is either 100% on, or as we've seen from lucy and Alice from Resident Evil conquers France until Britain mansplains her to death, he's 100% off, and there really doesn't seem to be a middle ground.
Any background on this? It looks interesting. Also had tons of gorgeous composition and amazing use of color.

God damn, that brings out some memories. [editline]31st March 2017[/editline]
Any background on this? It looks interesting. Also had tons of gorgeous composition and amazing use of color.
It's based on this Franco-Belgian comic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valérian_and_Laureline It's was FUCKING weird as shit, too. In the first book, [sp]Valérian meets Laureline by traveling to the 11th century cuz he's a timecop and ends up having to rescue Laureline from a sorcerer IIRC and she got transformed into a unicorn for some reason and he helped her back to normal and she then trusted him because apparently unicorns can tell when someone is speaking the truth[/sp]. Holy shit, I have to read it all again. I hope my library still has the books. In another book, [sp]they have to stop the war between nations that live inside a planet (like a dyson sphere) with no knowledge of the outside world and by bringing the leaders outside the planet and showing them there's a bigger universe they make peace[/sp]. [editline]31st March 2017[/editline] I am fucking PUMPED for this!
The beginning made it seem like a funny subversion of Hollywood action-adventure movies but then it kinda just looked like a Hollywood action-adventure movie. Hard to tell what the actual film is like though.
Any background on this? It looks interesting. Also had tons of gorgeous composition and amazing use of color.
based on a french comic that was the inspiration (and had some of it's designs taken straight out of) for star wars [editline]31st March 2017[/editline] also luc besson said in his ama the other day that the movie is based on the "ambassador of the shadows" book with some elements from other books.
Lucy was like his worse why the fuck would you put it in the trailer to showcase yourself
Lucy was like his worse why the fuck would you put it in the trailer to showcase yourself
Apparently there are people who think Lucy was a good film. I met one on Facebook the other day, who told me straight-up he thought Lucy was better than Limitless.
Lucy is okay, it's not good and it could have done many interesting things but didn't It's not a total bore or a bad movie but it's certainly his worst
The designs remind me a lot of Mass Effect, and seeing that it's based on an older graphic novel/comic series I wonder if that is in part what inspired Mass Effect. Looks neat, I'll have to check out the source material since it sounds interesting.
The Citadel sounds a hell of a lot like Alpha so Mass Effect definitely wasn't the first.
That's what I mean, I've been playing through the ME series for the first time and at least 1 and in part 2 seem to be a nice mash of historical inspirations and inspiration from other Sci-Fi series.
I don't know why, but I feel like this won't do very well in the box offices. It kind of reminds me of John Carter for some reason. That doesn't mean it will be a bad movie, I feel like it'll be a fantastic movie. I just feel like it won't be the new Harry Potter.
Lucy was like his worse why the fuck would you put it in the trailer to showcase yourself
Lucy was stupid, but at least it was a movie that was competent on a technical level and not a nightmarish fever dream
