I would strongly advise to never get a soft top, though. No matter what. They never bother to tell you that the drains for rainwater actually run INSIDE the car, make a 90 degree angle for maximum stoppage before the water actually drains out underneath it, causing it to eventually clog and then rust the ENTIRE FUCKING CAR THROUGH TO THE GAS TANK

Probably true, soft tops lose a bit of rigidity they otherwise would have. Some cars even handle differently from the hard top version. They make a hard top you can put on mine but I haven't had any luck finding one for sale. It's too old. Not that it would be any different than a soft top in this case

Only if you don't clean your drains regularly and keep the rain rail/soft top in good condition. They also don't make a non-convertible miata so your only option would be forking out 1K for a removable hard top if your leaks are that severe.

I just did some research and saw this. I was going to buy one, but seeing that I might see 3 or 4 auto-x events with the car, and 99% of the time It'll be street I'll take my chances
Can confirm MX5 is one of the best cars to own whether it be a daily driver or a weekend car. It's pretty hard to ride in one and not have a smile on your face
