I'm hoping that between open-handed, idealistic foreign policy, rather than overly aggressive, controlling policy, hand-in-hand with the Democrats seeming willingness to regulate industry may finally steer our foreign policy in the right direction, wherein we provide on site aid to actual infrastructure and development to gain the Third World's trust and ensure genuine cooperation and international solidarity; rather then our previous policy we've pursued of giving aid in bulk to dictators and radical anti-communist or anti-reform generals in return for mere regional obedience and imperialistic dominance. I don't want to read into this speech to far, but is seems that it might reflect a moment of vital turning in our policy that will actually end the leeching of the undeveloped world for the First World's benefit, and by enriching and assisting these nations instead we inevitably help ourselves by opening new markets and fighting terrorism with it's greatest of antidotes; education and information.
