Sony delays Amazing Spider-Man 3 by 2 years, replaces it with Uncharted movie
The studio has dated The Sinister Six, a movie that features an all-star lineup of Spider-Man villains, for Nov. 11, 2016. As part of the move, Sony moved back its The Amazing Spider-Man 3 by two years to 2018. Amazing Spider-Man 3 and 4 had already been dated for June 10, 2016, and May 4, 2018, respectively.
The studio will move Uncharted into the June 10, 2016, spot. The movie is an action-adventure based upon the top-selling PlayStation video game series, which follows the adventures of treasure hunter Nathan Drake. Seth Gordon will direct the film.
Ah fudge. Atleast it's not Uwe Boll.

The day Sony lets Uwe Boll direct a video game movie is the same day pigs all over the world spontaneously grow wings.
Oh look another "VIDEO GAME NAME HERE" movie
I would rather have an Unearthed movie:

i wonder if they'll be bringing harrison ford back again, i mean he's already played the main character in the 4 earlier uncharted movies
hopefully this means they'll put enough time into spider man 3 to make it more watchable than the last one

Don't get how people still find these videos funny. I've seen at least five of those type of videos posted every day.
please bring back Tobey as spiderman for the next one or don't even bother

I agree, but I posted this one in particular because it shows how it's an Uncharted rip off. The game is silly, I think Uncharted is silly, and I believe an Uncharted movie is silly as well. Why is Sony doing this? Do they not have financial problems? Surely they could see how video game movies usually do not turn out well.
making an uncharted movie is as silly as making a gta movie would be. the game is entirely based on film tropes

That does sort of make me wonder if an "unreboot" has ever happened to a film/TV show/Game series etc.
Bit of a stretch and such a minor example you need a microscope, but the new Wolfenstein is way more in touch with the original continuity than the 2009 game
That's cool, I hope uncharted becomes the Indian Jones of this era.
because boy did lucas screw that series up....

unreboots should be the new reboot. I just want Tobey back.
Hah, 2018 was going to be TASM4's release date. Good thing someone noticed just how much TASM2 sucked.
The train just keeps on rolling.
jesus christ 2018 sounds so far away.
And that's one year after I'm out of college. Fuck i'm getting out.

Probably, and thankfully, is because Bob Orci left the franchise
Actors don't age
i'm okay with this, better then another mediocre addition to a reboot trilogy.

Clearly we've come full circle.

now all we need is a parody
it will be a parody movie of a movie based on a game that is based on movies

It has. Diamonds are Forever, the seventh Bond film, had Sean Connery return to play Bond, after George Lazenby played him in On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
I wonder if this will eventually lead to the rights reverting.

Yeah, but it was really messy and not quite an "unreboot". OHMSS was a reboot that retained everyone but Bond and Blofeld in their previous roles, in a different timeline where the two aforementioned characters were yet to meet. DaF brought back Connery to chase Blofeld in some unclear sequel to whatever canon, except Blofeld was now played by a minor character from Connery's last Bond film, You Only Live Twice. Reboots are messy business.

definitely, i mean just look at the marvel movies box office numbers.
the first 5 movies leading up to the avengers all made plenty of money, especially the iron man ones (iron man was 2nd in the box office in 2008, im2 was 3rd in the 2010 one). but other than that, they were in pretty mediocre spots for blockbusters: the incredible hulk was in the 17th spot in 2008, as was captain america in 2011, with thor on the 15th spot.
and you have all those "alright" blockbusters, and the big movie with all of them is the third highest grossing film in HISTORY. it's clear that at some point, it's gonna cost more for sony to keep up with marvel than to sell them the rights.
If they fucking butcher Uncharted or it goes the way of Avatar (not space kittens...the airbending kind) Y'all motherfuckers gonna be hearing about the crazy man they gunned down after he stormed Seths house with a chainsaw and replaced his head with a cardboard drake head
Aren't the games cinematic enough already? What good is an Uncharted movie??? It sounds kind of backwards...

I don't really want a middle aged Spiderman.
