A Roger Rabbit cartoon was shown before Honey I Shrunk the Kids and the Mickey cartoon Runaway Brain before A Goofy Movie.
o [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] so im an idiot then nevermind [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] or rather pixar did it more consistently and that's why I thought that
Such a sweet story.
Ah, that was nice and warm. In a good mood now.
I-I think I got somthing in my eye
that train part was the best, that pure hatred face he had
I'm amazed this is a 3D animation.
Love the style
Thats just sand in my eyes i swear!
What the fuck? There was a live action indie film with a very similar story. Except instead of airplanes it was sticky notes on the window.

Anyone else think the guy actually got hit by the cars when crossing the busy road, and everything that plays out afterward is inside his head. DISNEY are deep.

But yeah, during the credits reel showing them hitting it off really nice made me think that's either Disney not bothering with some loopholes cause he pretty much quit his job, or he just doesn't care about it because it's no longer the real world, but his ideal world where everything will be fine.

Not to mention this style of animation would look fantastic for all kinds of mind-blowing works. Imagine a Sin-City style series animated like this or something. It's exciting!
This is a pretty remarkable piece of animation. I'm not a fan of how much the animation industry is CGI-ified nowadays, but to see a brilliant mix of the two is a real relief for me. I'd love to see some new films in this style - maybe even some good ones from Disney again. Well, I can dream, I suppose.

Which is soul-crushing for me, since I absolutely love animation and what you can do with it.
"So mum, dad... how did you two meet?" "Well...."
Leave it to Disney to make a short that'll give you that warm, tingly feeling inside before the movie even starts.
You're also drawing the movie two times over. As cool and great looking as it is, it doesn't seem practical to use.
No you don't, you draw the outlines on first frame of a scene and the rest is computer generated. No coloring, no shading, no anything.
No you don't, you draw the outlines on first frame of a scene and the rest is computer generated. Making an animating a 3d model is not drawing.
You just said it yourself that you draw it once. Making an animating a 3d model is not drawing.
gah, so i did. sorry i mean't 'doing'. your doing it twice, twice as much work still looks outstanding though i'd LOVE to see a full film using this technique

This + (Wreck-it-Ralph Spoilers)[sp] Ralph wrecking Vanellope car [/sp] = Seas of tears.
Disney can make some pretty shit stuff, but when they actually do tug at your heartstrings, they tug hard
Didn't you watch the movie where they talked about it? The 3d model does most of the work, It's not unpratical at all. Quite the contrary especially for someone who animates for a living, the outlining would take no time at all. It's not even a hazzle considering the outcome of the effect, it would take alot more time to do all this by hand considering all the easy angle calculating.
Wow something from Disney that isn't garbage. It looks fucking jaw-dropping.
