that paint job is disgusting tho
that paint job is disgusting tho
I think it's really nice
It sounds like a passing jet
if that thing had wings it would probably take off
if that thing had wings it would probably take off
An A380's takeoff speed is around 150 knots, or 278km/h. So yes, if this had wings it would actually take off! Staying in the air is another matter entirely though..
I wonder how much gas that thing burns
I wonder how much gas that thing burns
The same amount you put into it
that paint job is disgusting tho
I gotta agree. Red & black is so eugh, and overdone. [editline]29th July 2015[/editline] Regardless, paint it puke green that thing is an airplane.
that paint job is disgusting tho
Better than the originals that would fit better a land yacht like a Bentley instead of a near 2 tonne cruise missile.
I don't get the hype over the Veyron. I really don't.
I don't get the hype over the Veyron. I really don't.
It's really fast.
I don't get the hype over the Veyron. I really don't.
Same reason people get hyped over supras. They have huge egos, and the vast majority of them overstate how good the cars actually are.
I don't get the hype over the Veyron. I really don't.
Because it's a production car that is extraordinarily fast.
my civic can go faster because I put a custom intake on it way to waste millions lol
my civic can go faster because I put a custom intake on it way to waste millions lol
Your Honda Civic can go at 400 Km/h? Spectacular.
The Veyron is actually a really good car tho
Is it? There have been cars before that are much simpler that have gone almost as fast, like the corvette sledgehammer, it hit, I believe 210 before any other production car. There have also been a couple super cars after the Veyron that goes just as fast with half the weight, half the cylinders, and half the turbos.,

There have also been a couple super cars after the Veyron that goes just as fast with half the weight, half the cylinders, and half the turbos.,
Well. 268mph on the Super Sport is still pretty impressive. We are approaching the physical limitations on how fast four tiny patches of rubber can propel a whole car through the air without it flying away or something. Other than Koenigsegg or Hennessey (not a production car?) nothing even comes close sooo. It is (a little) special.

The fight with air resistance gets tougher and tougher, and it's very much a case of diminishing returns when it comes to engine power. The Veyron manages to overcome the 400KM/h barrier, which is no easy feat for a car of its kind.
I don't get the hype over the Veyron. I really don't.
Despite its looks (personally, I like it), the car is a masterpiece of engineering, no question about it. Everything about the car, down to the bolts, are purpose-built, and created for just one purpose - take you really fast, and with style. There are very few cars in the world that can take you well over 350+ kph every day without breaking... this is probably the only one (along with the One:1). Notice the car hitting a bump at 1:36... it must be doing well over 360+ kph at that point and the chassis, suspension and tires took it like nothing, and keep in mind, the car is using a *ton* (literally, over 1000 Kg of downforce to keep it stuck to the ground) of downforce as well... all that combined, and it didn't snap like a tree branch. And it can do it every day! It's amazing. Of course it's subjective, but the car's undeniable influence is and will always be there. You, of all people, should appreciate the effort that went into this car! Here's a Nat Geo documentary about the car can shed some more light into the efforts that went into creating this car, it really is something else. [hd]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1aK7Q_dldQ[/hd] In the meantime, Bugatti are working on its successor, and looks like it's gonna be a hybrid. Chances are, it's not gonna be unveiled in a long, long time. One-upping the Veyron will take years of R&D.
James May said something along the lines of other cars that can go almost that fast feel unstable and uncomfortable at those speeds, but the Veyron feels as if you're just cruising along. Also, as Chris Harris and other automotive journalists have mentioned, the Veyron is able to deploy its speed almost anywhere, at any time. Take say, a Koenigsegg or some other hypercar which is nearly as fast. On a slightly moist motorway on-ramp, hitting the loud pedal would most likely result in an accident because the power is simply too much for the chassis to handle in anything less than ideal conditions (dry, flat, smooth runway). Even then it will still be very difficult, and even moreso to reach that claimed top speed figure in the hands of anything less than a professional. The Veyron is amazing because of its incredible engineering competence; it's able to deploy almost all of its power, anywhere, in almost any conditions and still be useable and safe. The thing has 10 radiators to ensure it can take the repeated punishment of 0-200-0 acceleration and braking runs in a Middle Eastern desert and still keep the driver comfortably air conditioned on the way back to the garage afterwards. There are other cars than can match, and indeed even exceed its performance. But nothing does it as convincingly and as effortlessly as as Veyron.

Not only is it fast as fuck, but it's quiet, it's luxurious, and it's just a nice place to be in. You can also just so happen to beat virtually any other car you come across on the road.
