That Fucking Fish Man :wavey:
You promised me a top ten, you lying bastard.
Nothing in a Valve game ever came close to scaring me as much as the original fast zombie appearance back in 2004.
the true horror in a valve game is when maps don't load correctly and the entire world is transformed into a hellish nightmare of bright pink and black checkers and giant error models
Who puts the Horseless Headless Horsemann in a list of actually scary things?
I'm really not feeling this video.
HHH LUL
The zombies are the scariest thing

someone didn't play during halloween 2010
That video is like, 4 year olds,

valve channels are the worst
there's like, literally nothing to make a video on

Yet Valve News Network finds a way to exist

Yeah he chased you around but he was never scary.

Look at this design and tell me, with a straight face that you pissed yourself looking at this goofy looking thing?

That poison headcrab mutant was so horrible, the noises it made were insane.

That thing was (is still?) a one hit kill instant death, it's scary because of what it is able to do to you, not because of what it looks like. And IIRC it use to tell you when you were the target it was after.

I dunno, it wasn't really fear when I played back then. It felt more like a game of tag with a ridiculous character chasing you. I died so much in TF2 that I guess I wasn't scared of anything that could kill in one hit.
My personal scariest enemy from Valve is their reliance on CSGO crates to stop making games.

Mostly the shaking and feeling of impending, inescapable death was the thing that got me.
I remember being like, 5-6 and finding the combine troops to be fucking scary
Like the way they all communicate as well as the drop ship sound, that was honestly spooky back in the day

only the dead can know peace from this evil
nothing terrifies me in video games more than the ichthyosaur
made me afraid of open water
the only thing that scares me is the fact that this video exists

Same, first time facing the ichthyosaur in the murky water and seeing its sharp teeth and scary eyes pop up right in front of the screen was horrifying lol
Anytime there's an underwater section in an FPS, even if it's a game that may not have any underwater enemies present, I usually hesitate before jumping in and just hoping I can progress quickly and make it to the surface asap
Poison Headcrab zombies mixed with the fact that valve stuck em in pitch black areas in ravenholm always scared me shitless.
When i first played HL2 they seemed to take so much damage at first i was afraid you couldn't even kill them
Scariest enemy in a Valve game would HAVE to be that damn headcrab in HL1, that jumps at you in the vents after you first encounter the military. It always catches me off-guard, from when I first played at age 5, to now.
He was obviously cut from the game but Mr. Friendly in HL1 is pretty creepy looking.

One of his attacks was he, uhh, well, fatally copulates you.

OH MY FUCKING GOD HELP! I'M BEING CHASED BY A 70s CHILDRENS HALLOWEEN DECORATION! Thank Christ it's not wearing a witches hat, otherwise I'd be done for.
Wasn't firetornado the guy that made those really bad comics a while back?
barney looks kinda scary

Yeah, Gabe himself said it was meant to be upsetting to homophobic teens.
Birdwell was worried that Newell wouldn't approve of this material, but it turned out that was exactly what he was looking for. Newell and Backman then began a discussion about possible psycho-sexual alien behaviors and clinical descriptions of disturbed adolescent sexual fantasies. The sexual themes of some of these enemies were intended to elicit a response from the innate homophobia of 14-year-old boys, a significant portion of the targeted audience for the game.
Ah the 90s!

A perfect fit for TF2, honestly. I've always loved the approach they had with Halloween, being more playful and over the top. It'd be incredibly out of place if they tried to put in some Silent Hill type monster in there.
