That isn't even an excuse, Couric is just exploiting the fact that most people watching her sensationalist daytime talkshow ON TV are going to be 30-40+ at least and very likely parents. Just like spoonfeeding sugar cereal ads to children...or well Halo and CoD in this case.

I dont even get how he could call something an AK47 even though the game clearly takes place in 2552, A clearly Sci-fi setting where a AK could only exist as a museum piece.
Turning back to the thread discussion, As far as I know the gun violence level is down, even with the "Gun Bible" and other crazy gun-related things taking place in america and the video game trend happening.
