The fact these stories are made public is already a good step forward.

Statistics are one thing but in countries with such poor communication like Africa they are pretty much worthless. Some of the countries on the African continent are pretty much giant black holes with nothing ever coming in or out, because of no urbanization whatsoever, civil wars raging around, etc. Even when there IS some way of knowing what the hell is going on in there, the extremely archaic culture of most countries will be enough to completely muffle any case of rape, rendering statistics blind and pointless.

She wasn't a foreigner, and it's her case that started all of his shitstorm. Thankfully this will lead somewhere. People have to speak out against this or else nothing will ever happen.
