• 'People didn't care': Kellyanne Conway now says that Trump will not release his tax returns
In an interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC's "This Week," Donald Trump's senior adviser Kellyanne Conway attempted to put the issue of Trump's tax returns to bed by declaring unequivocally that he will not release the documents. Stephanopoulos asked Conway about the White House's response to 100,000 people petitioning the White House for Trump to release his full tax returns "with all information needed to verify emoluments clause compliance." "The White House response is that he's not going to release his tax returns. We litigated this all through the election. People didn't care. They voted for him," said Conway. Conway went on to suggest that the American people want Trump to lower taxes, not to release his own tax returns. "Let me make this very clear. Most Americans are very focused on what their tax returns will look like while President Trump is in office, not what his look like," said Conway. Contrary to Conway's claims, an ABC News/Washington Post poll released on Monday found that 74% of Americans say Trump should release his tax returns. Additionally, a December poll indicated that 65% of Americans were at least "somewhat concerned" about Trump's conflicts of interest. No surprise, releasing them would probably reveal his connections to the Kremlin.
List of people surprised:
Kellyanne Conwoman.
There is no reason for him to. He won the election without releasing them and people who didn't vote for him are still not going to vote for him in 2020 even if he did release his taxes.
I hope wikileaks releases them, then
"If we just keep saying he got votes and no one cares, it will become the truth".
Except they do care.
Ho boy, it keeps getting worse every day. Hopefully actions will speak louder than the very embarrassing words but I'm not holding my breath.
I don't understand how they haven't been leaked. Someone must have seen them at some point.
There is no reason for him to. Considering that he claims to be a billionaire, and have no ties to Russia, wouldn't it make sense to prove it, by releasing his tax return?

Trump's response during a nationally televised debate wherein he was accused of not paying any federal taxes was "that makes me smart". He went on to win. There is literally no reason for him to release the taxes that are inevitably damaging to his image.
Well, she's speaking the truth, people let him get away with it, and now the pressure is gone. I guess this is also implies that the audit was always a bullshit, made-up excuse.
They best be ready for new lows in approval ratings.
Oh, but he was just waiting until the audit was over, right? Then he was going to release them, right? Surely, he wasn't just saying that to bide time before the election... It's almost like he has something to hide that could possibly ruin his image (even more then it already is) that people will still defend anyway.
I hope wikileaks releases them, then
Indeed, this is the perfect change for them to uphold their integrity and prove their impartiality! It should be any day now...
he has to prevent anything getting out about these tax returns for the next four years i'd give him no more than two
Also if Trump is acting like a dictator even if he isn't actually one. The President should be accountable to the people.

He only really changed his stance once he won, because suddenly his campaign promises weren't important anymore. He's a liar.
Trump to Obama "Let's see that birth certificate" Obama to Trump "Here you go. Let's see those tax returns" Throwing stones from his glass tower.

His supporters are already by and large resigned to support him no matter what he says or does, and even if his tax returns are squeaky clean (which they most likely are not), it's not going to help win anybody over. Releasing his tax returns can only hurt him at this point.
And this is the same person who kept throwing fits about Obama's birth certificate when it wasn't released.
You'd think a man so eager to show off to everyone just how rich he is would be eager to show off his tax returns, that'd be a really good way to show everyone how fabulously wealthy he is [editline]22nd January 2017[/editline] Unless, oh, I dunno, he wasn't actually that rich and actually has outstanding debts with basically every large bank you can name and has been repeatedly forced to sell off his properties and failed businesses to cover his enormous piles of debt
Looks like ol Teflon Don is really catching on to the politics game quick. GJ jerk I actually kinda wanted to see this.
He's blatantly hiding something and we're supposed to be okay with it??? this isnt about shit his supporters believe it's about his integrity as president
Looks like ol Teflon Don is really catching on to the politics game quick. GJ jerk I actually kinda wanted to see this.
what about this is laudable for you? Why is Trump becoming more like a politician, something he used a selling point, really something we're going to see Trump supporters cheer for from now on? Do you not feel like you're being played?
They best be ready for new lows in approval ratings.
Ooh approval ratings, it sounds intimidating. I'm positive congress is also scared shitless over their low approval ratings, they'll lose reelection. /s
