Turn your bottles into drink cups, or vases
Earlier thread I posted got f'd up, sorry, here it is.

fire alarm goes off while showing a girl this trick
frightened and throw it up in the air
hits her on the head dead
As someone who comes from a family with an excess in both empty bottle and accidentally dropped glasses, this is brilliant.
That's pretty neat.
or you can just use the bottle
or you can just use the bottle
how would you fill it with ice cubes? and your beverage?

unless you have parkinson's or something, i don't see how refilling a bottle is a difficult task by any means
Or you could just buy cheap glass cups and not look like a hillbilly with cut up beer bottles in your cabinets.

I would very much like to watch you try to shove ice cubes into a bottle.

A drinking glass is more convenient, and like jblaze said, ice cubes won't fit.
I don't see anybody who saves glass bottles and stores them in their cupboards like you would with drinking glasses.

Or you could be smart, and not be so self-conscious. It's the whole point of recycling, to reuse things that would otherwise be thrown away to save resources and money.

Well duh, he's obviously gonna melt them before trying to put them in
Very cool. Some bottles are really cool, I've considered saving them but haven't been sure what to use them for. Now I know!
Don't do it without safety gloves, a guy I know did this and a glass shard flew off and sliced his hand. Not nice.
It's a genius idea but the sharp jagged edges left on the glass aren't very safety assured.

Thats why you sand it down, he shows it at the end of the video.

use a hammer! :downs:
I'm guessing something about the quick cooling causes the glass to shatter where it was heated. Anybody know the details?
I would suggest not doing it in the sink because broken glass will go down the drain.

Thermal shock I believe.

Sand em down
Thats actually pretty damn genius.
I learned this on an infothread awhile ago, the person in this video isn't burning it long enough, it would be a cleaner "cut" if he did it for longer.
I'm actually really excited to try this.

tl;dw - Cut the bottle with a glass cutter first, heat that line, then pour water on it so you don't get sharp edges plus you can put the top back on if you need.

im sure same thing would happen, if you score the bottle before lighting it on fire, i think the result would be a clean cut

He's actually talking about exactly that somewhere in the video. Just watch it.
