would have been incredible if they figured out how to make the hidden blade double-action(retracts and detracts)
this guy has the best channel
would have been incredible if they figured out how to make the hidden blade double-action(retracts and detracts)
I don't know shit about this kind of thing, but couldn't it be possible with a cable tied to one finger? Closed fist extends it, open hand retracts it by loosening cable enough for spring to pull blade back

I wanted to see more hidden blade action. Damn.
Nice! he finally made one! I do wish he'd made it dual-action though, a lot of dedicated fans have already figured out how to make it do that, the design is based off of an OTF (out the front) knife. Same guy even figured out how to make the Pivot blade from ACIII- All of his stuff is made using a 3D printer. AND he's selling them on his website- http://www.etsy.com/shop/AmmnraCreations
Shame he will never make a chain sword.
only now do I realize how bad of an idea it is to have a spring loaded blade next to your wrist and hand.
only now do I realize how bad of an idea it is to have a spring loaded blade next to your wrist and hand.
It's for that reason why Ubisoft has only ever produced the rubbery plastic ones, so they don't get sued. On the other hand, though, (no pun intended) the really good fan-made ones require you to lift your hand out of the way in order for the blade to deploy, a stylish and safer method then pressing a button, like the official replicas.
correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the reason why most assassins have a missing ring finger is so that the blade can easily slide out, and that it is a part of their initiation
correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the reason why most assassins have a missing ring finger is so that the blade can easily slide out, and that it is a part of their initiation
In the first game you can see a loop tied around Altair's missing ring finger, it looks like he deploys the blade by jerking his finger upward and the blade itself passes through where his finger would normally be.

In AC2 DaVinci tells Ezio that he needs to cut his finger off to make the hidden blade work. Then tells him he's joking after, and that he's figured out how to make it work without losing the finger. So yeah the original hidden blade did need the finger missing.
