I cant help the feeling that these are US military promotions, intented or not. Everything seems so relaxed and chill which is not the truth. But i guess thats kind of the point of Conan also, but got few good laughs especially when the troops seemed bit uncomfortable around Conan.
Al Uedid is chill. Been there.

Its not like the US military wouldnt want to advertise themselves as good.
Yeah my friend is stationed there, you'd be surprised how much chill goes on in the military

The vast majority of the US military isn't in combat and will never see combat.

It's explicitly stated that Conan traveled to support those in the military. Also, it can very easily be a whole lot of doing nearly nothing depending on where you're stationed.

The military spends a crazy amount getting their image out to people who will run with it in a PR friendly way

Some of these promotions are charity based, but no idea if this is one.

So yeah, it is pretty chill. Bases are pretty much mostly downtime unless you're working though.

It's an air base within a friendly and stable country. What do you want them to show? Bombs going off and shooting?

Why would they be putting the real shit in there?
