is it just me or is it strange for a homeless person to ask for $20? or was he asking for 20 cents?
just because when i was in san fran a guy asked me to spare some change so i gave him whatever i fished out of my pocket first, i think it was 50 cents, and then he was like "you got a bill?" and i was like "what" and he goes "a bill? $5 for a pizza?"
i was pretty amazed. most homeless people around where i live are ridiculously grateful if you even give them 20p
i live around san francisco bay area and from what i see the least people give homeless people is a dollar. i once gave this gay 5 bucks since i had some leftover lunch money and that guy was so fucking grateful and helped me get all my groceries in my car
Whats up with the surge of helping homeless people Youtube videos. I mean its good and all, but I'm starting to suspect its partly because of views.

I feel like it's 20% helping people out and 80% for views.

Is that a bad thing, though?
They're "tricking" doing good deeds for views, but in turn the views are "tricking" them into doing good deeds.
I normally give $4 if they don't seem to be high or drunk - granted Denmark's expensive as shit.

Why not? It's essentially like a charity. Viewers fund the video-makers with with advertiser's money, video-makers perform "pranks" or magic tricks and help out the local homeless.
So this trick's a pretty easy one by the way. There's a platform underneath the surface of the coffee with holes in it and a bunch of coins on it. The holes are too small for the coins to fit through, but it allows the coffee to pass through. Underneath the platform there's a stick that goes through the bottom of the cup. When he's shaking the cup he's pushing the stick with his finger and the coins come to the surface. Unfortunately this means that there's not a lot of coins in there.
Actually, I did a quick lookup, there's like 3 different ways to do this trick with varying amounts of coins so who knows.

i buy them a beer if they don't seem high or drunk.
should it annoy me that they were thanking god for miracles? is it that much of a miracle that someone can be nice that only god could do that?

Hey, don't get me wrong, they can spend their money however they want, and I don't ask for a pee sample or anything. I'd just rather help people with some kind of opportunity for a better life than someone basically just stuck in a vicious circle, even though withdrawals and such can be fucking terrible.
