Seriously, the whole "and then a creeper sneaks up and explodes" ending has been done to death so many times it lacks any comedic value anymore if you ask me.

It's not really supposed to be funny anymore. It just mimics what actually happens in the game.

You don't make your characters take a shit in every movie simply to mimic what actually happens in real life.
It's trying to go for cheap laughs and a convenient way to end a video but it's overused and sort of trite.

I don't think it was really going for comedy; it was more just doing 'Minecraft IRL'. And it did a good job of that.
