Eh, I don't mind too much. It's by far less annoying than the whole '2 people behind a keyboard' bullshit with all the horrendously badly written jargon they throw in.
I cringed.
coulda been worse
Now my grandfather is going to ask me about Sky-reem and taking arrows to the knee.
Surprisingly, that wasn't all that bad. At least it wasn't "The cake is a lie" or "all ur base" or something like that. And at least it wasn't this:
wow that was no where near as painful as I expected
It isn't that bad, it isn't putting me off the show.
If i was acting in this show i'd make them change it or refuse to do my lines.
This aired yesterday, it was probably written/filmed back when the internet was starting to over use it.
American TV shows referencing shit for absolutely no reason and having no link to the story at all is not a new thing, y'know.
Honestly, it's fine when they at LEAST do the minimum of homework when throwing in references. This is a decent example. True, it's a little late, but you can't blame them for that, writing takes place WAY before the episode airs, so what can you do? If you want to REALLY score nerd points for your show you could have a character play a videogame and actually understand what they're talking about, which is what they were aiming for here but missed ever so slightly. A better example is Alcatraz where Doc (Hurley from Lost) is killing time by playing starcraft 2, and makes fun of his opponent for using a 4 gate rush.

Related, for some reason: I'm simultaneously glad and extremely disappointed that the NCIS thing wasn't this.
American TV shows referencing shit for absolutely no reason and having no link to the story at all is not a new thing, y'know.
I think this is a very large case of product placement. Little tiny advertisements for something in a show. Makes it so people don't skip em like normal ads.
Okay that wasn't bad at all, if anything he was more making fun of it. And did they change the actor for McGee? I watched this show a while ago and he sounded completely different.

I like this show and that make me smile.
I actually think that was thrown in quite well. Considering it was used in the piss take term because the guy was being an ass.
it could have been a lot worse but there was really no need for the reference at all in the first place. it's just mainstream media realising what a big audience modern nerds are and painfully trying to pander to them by dropping trademarked titles of video games in. it's pathetic even the big bang theory isn't as shitty as this. at least in that show it's just got a general theme of nerdiness; they don't just randomly throw in the titles of semi-recent video games
Well at least it's going to die now.
It's nowhere near as bad as The Walking Dead's portal reference. It hurts....physically
Well at least it's going to die now.
no not until it has reached hot-topic [t]http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/images/epic_lifecycle8.gif[/t]

wow his refresh rate is like 0!

It's not out of place at all and seems like something someone who plays Skyrim would say as a joke.
A meme is only truly slain once it's been on television.
In a way it was actually kind of funny, not saying the meme isn't overused I just think it's funny it went that far. Also it was a pretty appropriate line for the character.
Don't the writers purposely put stuff like this in to annoy people, like when they used HTML to find some guys IP address?
Don't the writers purposely put stuff like this in to annoy people, like when they used HTML to find some guys IP address?
I remember reading something about the writers throwing in stupid shit like making GUIs in VB to track the killer's IP-address just to laugh at people who become furious
"Until I took an arrow to the knee" The other guy looks down to his knee. :v:
