Audible finally won, I'll download this book just because I liked this video so much
Wow, what a worthless video. I'm already doing all of these things.
I honestly feel personally attacked.
i feel uncomfortable
This explains a lot
But doing these things makes me happy. edit: really guys i take pleasure from never sleeping at regular intervals
This struck a nerve.
Every heavy internet user is already doing at least half of this. We are all miserable! [editline]31st May 2017[/editline] Internet causes misery
What a piece of shit video. So now it's my fault I got depressed and starting living like this. Fuck this guy so much
What a piece of shit video. So now it's my fault I got depressed and starting living like this. Fuck this guy so much
I really think you are missing the point of this video.
I really think you are missing the point of this video.
I'm sorry what's the point I'm missing? It's not a video on how to be miserable, it's literally shaming anyone who does these things. I have no money and can't do shit like leave the house so fuck off all I can do is look at screens all day. I already feel terrible that I live like this and really didn't need a reminder that it's not good for me when it's out of my control Is this guy gonna tell me lol stop being such a negative nancy, you have no right to be depressed aha you got it so good be grateful

Right
Yeah and do what with no money? Go play in traffic?

Here's a tip for not being miserable, don't be such a sensitive baby who takes offense to a a video making generalized helpful advice.
Yeah and do what with no money? Go play in traffic?
Looking for a job would be a good idea
Yeah honestly when the government started taxing leaving the house with the "Stroll Toll" in the early 2000s it really killed my motivation to go for walks
Oh for sure I love spending all day walking ??? Are you guys serious? [editline]1st June 2017[/editline]
Looking for a job would be a good idea
Time to go pick a job from the job tree that just hands out jobs

I honestly dunno where you got the idea that he was shaming people.

I know there's more to life because I've lived it. Now that I'm up to my eyeballs in depression and my life got fucked and this is how I live now, I didn't choose this shit and cunt can fuck off if he thinks this helps [editline]1st June 2017[/editline]
The video's point is not 'if you do these things you should feel like shit', the point is to explain why these things affect people the way that they do. [editline]1st June 2017[/editline] Time to go pick a job from the job tree that just hands out jobs
even the simple act of walking, in and of itself, can significantly improve your overall well being and can alter your moods for the better because it forces blood flow to the brain and muscles you absolute baby stop trying to excuse your habits and cower behind "shaming" accusations when, unless you're 100% incapacitated, you have a fucking choice to change it. literally all you need to do is go outside, even if it's just to take a walk around the neighborhood. it's another episode of "guy who will go to great lengths to justify his own misery"

He takes topics that interest him and frates them in an entertaining way. I honestly fail to see the issue.

Reversing the question subtly implies that people who are miserable makes a conscious effort to be so, which isn't helpful at all. I suspect it is intended by the author to draw attention to his message, but it's worth clarifying.

It's a mission to get out of bed. Yeah I go for walks, but I don't enjoy it. Because I can't enjoy anything, and that is not a choice.
Number six hits too close to home

All CGP Grey is doing is taking a topic - based off someone else's work - and using it in an educational manner. If people are getting triggered so badly by this then it is honestly an issue they need to sort out themselves, not an issue with the video.
Time to go pick a job from the job tree that just hands out jobs
I know the job market is shit but have you at least been looking? if you aren't looking at all then you're a giant idiot for complaining. No seriously, shut the hell up. if you are actively looking then damn, I wish you luck, the market IS shit after all
Oh for sure I love spending all day walking ??? Are you guys serious?
even just 15-30 minute walks at midnight make me feel amazing just talk on the phone or listen to a podcast or music
Yeah see I'm really not sure that is the case here. All CGP Grey is doing is taking a topic - based off someone else's work - and using it in an educational manner. The only way I can see this being educational is if you've lived your whole life this way and simply don't know better.
Yeah nice assumptions there, but I've been diagnosed with major depression, it IS crippling. It's a mission to get out of bed. Yeah I go for walks, but I don't enjoy it. Because I can't enjoy anything, and that is not a choice.
stop acting like major depression is untreatable. there are entire books written specifically on the subject, people who have careers that revolve around the study of mental health, specifically depression. there are so many methods of treatment that even a lifetime isn't enough to try each and every one. i see people hide behind "im depressed, you dont know what its like, nothing can ever fix me im broken and its a mental disease so my life choices whatever they may be cant be criticized" rhetorics all the damn time. hell, even i hid behind it. but it's a pile of bullshit that we made up. we made it up because it makes us feel comfortable, because it promotes a mindset that hinges on removing guilt. nothing is ever your fault, it's all the fault of that gosh darn depression. there is nothing that can be done so i'll just be miserable and spread misery unto others wherever i go. it's all bullshit and you know it. all you are doing is fueling your defense mechanisms by constantly repelling any fucking advice on the basis that "you didnt choose any of it". so what? life isn't supposed to be fair or easy.
It's is not helpful advice like fuck. I know there's more to life because I've lived it. You're saying its not helpful because the advice doesnt specifcally apply to you, isn't that a well, aside from being wrong, selfish point of view? You're also assuming everyone has a high level of emotional intelligence, you'd be surprised how many people dont realize doing jack shit will make them feel like shit. A lot of people in this world consider people who just do jack shit freeloaders living the high life, even.
