Erm okay enjoy poison then
gasoline leaves the body fairly quickly and has no long term effects on digestive tract when consumed in such small amounts. I know a couple of old timers who light their cigarettes on zippos filled with gasoline to no ill effect. what we have here is a case of if it aint broke dont fix it
think about it, charcoal lighter fuel is essentially the same as gasoline (both are petroleum distillates) and you wouldn't mind eating something cooked with that. these clams will taste like shit, but they ain't gonna kill you.
Modern fuels have all kinds of additives that are wonderful for a engine but not exactly something you want to seep into organisms

Many of the hydrocarbons in petrol are carcinogenic; benzene being the big one. I would not do that myself.

speak for yourself, i never use lighter fluid, it makes food taste horrible.
also you're supposed to use the fluid to light the coals then wait for it all to burn off, not continuously spray the shit so the coals are fucking soaked. hell you're not even supposed to cook over briquettes without waiting for them to ash over, there are binders added to them, it is sub-optimal.
it is most definitely broke, north koreans ain't know nothing bout no bbq.
