Four people have been found dead following a shooting incident that triggered a stand-off with police in Aurora, in the US state of Colorado. Police say they went to a home after shots were heard there overnight. Officers later entered the home. After a gunfight they found the suspect dead, along with three people apparently killed earlier, police say. Aurora, near Denver, was the scene of a mass shooting at a cinema in July, in which a gunman killed 12 people. He opened fire at random during the premiere of the Batman film The Dark Knight Rises. Suspect James Eagan Holmes is currently being tried on murder charges. In Saturday's incident, police said the suspect barricaded himself at the home for five hours before police moved in. They say it is not clear whether officers shot the gunman or whether he shot himself.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-20923201
They say it is not clear whether officers shot the gunman or whether he shot himself.
Maybe they should check the type of bullet :v:
What the fuck is up with all the shootings.
:c
If I were in Aurora I would be questioning my safety at this point.
okay this is getting ridiculous
If I were in Aurora I would be questioning my safety at this point.
Why? New York celebrates when it goes a day without a murder. You only heard about two shootings in Aurora in half a year, one of which was more than likely personal and not random
Shooting are becoming a weekly thing now.
Shooting are becoming a weekly thing now.
they've been for a long time now
Shooting are becoming a weekly thing now.
They are a daily thing, its just that the media is reporting on them more lately due to the recent mass shootings.
Shooting are becoming a weekly thing now.
copycat crimes / increased media coverage on things. it'll die down in a couple months
Shooting are becoming a weekly thing now.
They happen fucking often. And a lot less often than they used to. And still for a country with over 300,000,000 people in it, and almost as many guns, it's a tiny tiny tiny amount. Better off worrying about crossing the street
What the fuck is up with all the shootings.
VEHDYOE GHAYMES :tinfoil:
We really don't need to report everytime someone gets shot. We'd need a whole subforum for Chicago.
We really don't need to report everytime someone gets shot. We'd need a whole subforum for Chicago.
we'd need an entire forum for detroit
Why haven't we taken the guns out of the hands of murderers yet...?
Why haven't we taken the guns out of the hands of murderers yet...?
because they're in the hands of murderers
okay this is getting ridiculous
It was ridiculous from the start
We really don't need to report everytime someone gets shot. We'd need a whole subforum for Chicago.
It's only because of Aurora.
This sounds like he committed premeditated murder at a residence, whereas this is being reported as if he walked into a public place and opened fire. I don't see a comparison between this and the theater shooting at all
whereas this is being reported as if he walked into a public place and opened fire.
No its not lol
This sounds like he committed premeditated murder at a residence, whereas this is being reported as if he walked into a public place and opened fire. If it were in 2 towns over, we wouldn't even here about it on the national news.
No, we would hear about it, but it would sound totally ridiculous. "Four found shot in some bum-fuck town relatively near Aurora, CO. Nation in mourning."
What the fuck is up with all the shootings.
This doesn't sound like a shooting, more like burglary gone wrong or a mafia hit, which also went wrong.
If I were in Aurora I would be questioning my safety at this point.
As someone who actually lives in Aurora, lol
As someone who actually lives in Aurora, lol
Yeah, what he said. Aurora is a pretty safe city. We're the second largest city in Colorado, following Denver.
And nowhere near as unsafe as, say, Chicago or Detroit
My guess is this will keep happening until either; A) Gun rights are removed/restricted B) A civil militia is established and more people are armed C) Martial Law
My guess is this will keep happening until either; A) Gun rights are removed/restricted B) A civil militia is established and more people are armed C) Martial Law
Or, this will always happen because murder has been a societal problem since the beginning of time.
