The good guy's revolver ran out of ammo, but confronted the bad guy anyway, somehow preemptively knowing that they would agree to drop their guns, then grab them as they're dropping. So they agree to drop their guns, and grab them as they fall, managing to switch the guns around. Now the badguy had the revolver with no ammo in it and the good guy was able to shoot him in the head.
