Huh. Actually looks pretty cool. There aren't exactly many Windows tablets out there with a dedicated GPU in them.
Wow. That is sleek.
The surface itself is pretty great, been my school computer for ages. Its powerful enough to do everything I need to do, like rendering audio or working in my DAW, but when just taking notes or doing schoolwork the battery has plenty of life. It has its problems though, and this addresses damn near all of them. More than one USB port is huge, for one. Better keyboard and trackpad is another, and replacing the microSD with regular SD is another big step. All while keeping what makes the surface great already microsoft pls gib
Hmmm loving the thin bezel
Hmmm loving the thin bezel
You should see the Dell XPS 13 then. The bezel on it is insane.
This is basically the perfect way to do a laptop/tablet combo, but holy shit is it expensive. 1500$ for the cheapest version with an i5, no dedicated GPU and an 128GB SSD is just too much. If I could get one for less than 1000€ I'd be all over it.

Just like this except done in the classic keyboard-cover-kickstand style of past surfaces (keyboard cover sold separately)
Well damn. I knew Microsoft's hardware division was good, but I didn't expect this good. Definitely seems to be giving Apple a run for its money in terms of design and specs for the price, and it'll be damn impressive if it can get anywhere near 12 hours of battery life. This may be my next "laptop" whenever I can manage to save the money.

And the keyboard is stupid expensive as well. I actually checked the price, and if I wanted a pro 4 with 8GB of RAM + a keyboard, it would cost me over 1400$. It actually makes the Book look like a good deal.
My surface pro 3 can plan TF2 and Elite:Dangerous so I'm good for now. ... for now When I get the money I will almost certainly sell my surface and move upwards to this monster.
I will never understand the appeal of a laptop with a separable monitor. You all must be really fucking rich.

I want it so bad, but I'm also not in any position to shell out for the GPU + i7 version, which is what I'd need to replace this decaying 2011 macbook I'm currently using. But goddamn, I'd be getting a replacement that'd be so fucking worth it. Especially for the drawing features. [editline]7th October 2015[/editline] Fuck it, when I get home I'm hunting for freelance gigs.
Who else nerdgasms as the screen comes off?
Pretty slick looking.

Lighter games are no problem. I'd avoid graphically intense stuff though. Integrated video has gotten a lot better over the years. I think mine is a slightly upgraded integrated video but I can't imagine the stuff in the low end surface book is much worse than what mine is.
