people laugh at dogecoin (myself included), but the fact it's the #2 cryptocurrency level pegging with Litecoin at the moment makes it a pretty profitable coin. Especially when traded for USD - people are making thousands from it in the past 48hrs.
All this publicity people are giving it are just strengthening it imho.

I don't even care anymore, I'm just gonna get myself a mountain of coins and sit on it until it's hyped up to like a dollar a coin.
I know if I don't it's gonna be bitcoin all over.
I have mined about 1500 dogecoin so far, which is nothing really.
Probably going to keep it for a while and see what happens, not like im going to lose anything other than time.
this was surprisingly high quality
probably not gonna be as successful as bitcoin anyway. now that everyone has seen the success of bitcoin and see that a new cryptocurrency has emerged which is currently cheap, they want a bite of that cake in hope it turns out like bitcoin

Really though, I am very unfamiliar with cryptocurrencies and mining. How long did it take you to get 1500, and what all do you have to do?

It took me a couple of hours, im unfamiliar with it as well so i guess thats why im not making thousands like others are, it has gotten harder to mine though now that its becoming popular.
You basically just set a program to mine using your cpu or gpu, you join a pool and then you just let it mine. theres a good beginners guide on the official dogcoin forums.
Awesome. My 5 cents that I mined last night has since then exploded to $12. Gonna mine as much as I can while it's still easy, then sell them when I'm able to make, say, $1000.

i dont see a reason not to mine it though, its easy and somewhat fun and theres potential seeing that its based on a meme and all.
i have a pretty decent gaming rig which i almost never use to its full potential, so i might as well put it to some use.
all these cryptocurrencies do is just fill me with regret

It's literally just a pump & dump scheme though. The very definition of one in fact. People who missed the Bitcoin Goldrush are strengthening its value into a bubble, pumping its value up and dumping everything when it peaks, not its viability as an actual currency.
Doge is an escalating meme that will die fast just like the Harlem Shake. Definitely overused and shows up way too often.

I am slapping myself so hard for ignoring the dogecoin threads that got spammed on 4chan days before it got popular. I could have mined 1mil easily and be rich already. I just didn't expect it to get that popular. Especially with so many altcoins around already.
