TB get's attacked quite a bit in this one. Also be warned the first 20 minutes mixed with him complaining about how a decent FPS isn't good enough for him. And yeah sadly this game looks very bare bones. Makes me want to grab Far Cry 4 though. [editline]29th February 2016[/editline] Ok this isn't Far Cry: Unity TB, unless the Bears are doing T-poses and you're falling through the map constantly, then it's just a really weak Far Cry game and that's really it.
See a crocodile in hunter vision while following the boar, CLEARLY changes direction towards crocodile gets eaten "why does this keep happening to me?" ???
Well totalbiscuit complaining about FPS is a valid point, he has a monster of a rig (SLI titan's or something like that ?) and if a game doesn't run well for him, then it's most likely just the game being optimized bad.
See a crocodile in hunter vision while following th boar, CLEARLY changes direction towards crocodile gets eaten "why does this keep happening to me?" ???
Yeah that was a bit cringy :v: at least the america one seemed genuine.
He does clearly explain that there are NO Game Ready Drivers or Day 1 patch and when the video was recorded and what he had to do just to get it to RUN better. Would be interested to see how Day 1 Patch and Game Ready drivers do for the game.
WHY DOES THIS NEED TO BE A FUCKING THING? Why do people have to patch the god damn drivers for a game to properly run ON TOP OF the god damn drivers. They are feature and performance proof by now, there are THOUSANDS of games before this one that run JUST FINE on the current version of the driver and then comes a game like this and suddenly on a $7k computer the performance is a concern because for some reason it's the graphics driver's fault.
What is up with crazy performance issues out of sudden? It seems every game has it.
If I were to guess, it's probably because of game developers spending less time on optimizing their games. Many developers seem to have the mentality that "as long as it runs over 30 fps, it's good enough". This is probably only one of many reasons.
Or maybe optimization for low end machines have priority because in the end that's where the main demographic sits.
See a crocodile in hunter vision while following the boar, CLEARLY changes direction towards crocodile gets eaten "why does this keep happening to me?" ???
*sets field on fire, walks right over it* "oh great now i'm on fire for no apparent reason"
It's more like he shouldn't expect SLI support within the first day of launch when one titan is plenty to begin with and he should turn it off till they release optimization/SLI support. TB seems surprised everytime that his 4-GPU system isn't god mode. Is it surprising that they optimize towards the low-end to work first and not the smaller percentage of people with 2+ GPUs?
TB seemed kinda high when he was doing this, talking really fast and just doing dumb things
If developers are optimizing their games so lower end machines can play them at ease, shouldn't this benefit higher end machines too? Valve's games seem to follow this example.
Not necessarily. [editline]29th February 2016[/editline] I agree with most of his stuff after seeing qite some LPs but he gets less and less self aware it seems to me.
It's almost like a worse Skyrim without mods and a little better graphics (which can be done with mods anyways).
It's almost like a worse Skyrim without mods and a little better graphics (which can be done with mods anyways).
Farcry 3 was Skyrim with guns, so take away the guns and you get... :ohno:
It's kinda hard for me to explain it without knowing who's really at fault. Nvidia/AMD or Ubisoft? Ubisoft for not crunching out issues and performance bugs and not allowing Nvidia/AMD any real access to the game to make it run better? Or is it Nvidia/AMD being lazy fucks and leaving drivers for the game unreleased till launch day? It really shouldn't be a problem. But at the same time. This is Ubisoft who iirc told AMD to fuck off till really late with Watch Dogs.
Graphics drivers are just what's between the graphics API and the graphics hardware. If there are thousands of games that use the same API which never changes with no problems what so ever, then why would it suddenly be a problem for one game? And why would a big company like AMD or Nvidia try to fix performance by butchering a driver for a game that doesn't know how to utilize the API.
I find it really goofy that this game has a fictional language, but the subtitles still use stereotypical caveman talk like "Me no like fire."
What is up with crazy performance issues out of sudden? It seems every game has it.
A lot of modern AAA games sacrifice performance for some of their more advanced graphical features, especially on consoles. When you consider how many devs have resorted to doing this it's no wonder the last console gen dragged on for so long.
I find it really goofy that this game has a fictional language, but the subtitles still use stereotypical caveman talk like "Me no like fire."
it might be goofier if they were articulate as fuck while saying 'ongo bongo me stopid'
Should have done Blood Dragon 2000.

Driver implementations are also not perfect at all. Now add SLI and other dark magic and you can guess pretty much what happens. I think calling it Far Cry: Unity is REALLY harsh...

I'm willing to give this game a chance, but they way TB was playing it made it seem really boring.
I wouldn't trust TB when he reviews FPS games because he doesn't seem to like them and he's shit at them
How good he's at a game while commentating during gameplay would hardly impact his review. I'd say he assessed it pretty well as a open world hunting gather game. Also TB doesn't like FPS games? This is news to me.
Does anybody have an explanation for this?
Closest analogy (as i see it) would be replacing the processor for the shit performance of a program instead of fixing the program. There's no excuse, the game looks almost identical to Far Cry 4.
Is Far Cry 4 worth a purchase?
He sure as hell loved Overwatch, albeit that's an FPSMOBA so I guess it might be different rules. Either way, sounds like unoptimized PC ports of triple-A titles are becoming commonplace again.
Is Far Cry 4 worth a purchase?
if you haven't played Far Cry 3 then yeah sure but it's really nothing special
