RIP Illinois our flag is shit
I hate shitty flags Regardless of how bad your flag is, just be happy it isn't this: That's a flag.
[t]https://reportlandoregon.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/oregon.jpg[/t] but, but Oregon's flag is the only one thats two sided.... surely that warrants a mention other than the list of shame :saddowns:
He didn't do the Oklahoma flag. Didn't even include it in the list of shame. [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/6e/Flag_of_Oklahoma.svg/2000px-Flag_of_Oklahoma.svg.png[/t]

Does it actually have the name of the state on it? Fuck.

Oh my god That looks like it belongs to Microsoft.
I didn't even know my city had a flag. It's not as horrible as I was expecting.
Our flag is the best flag [t]http://flagnations.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/virginia-flag.jpg[/t] It's a person with their tiddy hanging out standing on the corpse of someone they just killed the shit out of

The only reason I like our flag is the latin phrase. "If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you".
i highly recommend 99%pi podcast, im now hooked on design after listening to about 50 episodes of it
the only thing thatsucks about it is that he never goes into the more detailed shape of design. It's too superficial and many times not about design at all.

I like to pretend that this is actually the North Dakotan flag, because our current one is a massive embarrassment! [t]http://i.imgur.com/A1VmHNa.png[/t]
Not American, but I like my province's flag. [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a2/North_Brabant-Flag.svg/2000px-North_Brabant-Flag.svg.png[/t] Even my city's flag is decent. Good lord there are some pretty awful flags right there... Probably a good reason why they're by the large not seen.
RIP Illinois our flag is shit
I keep forgetting that the Chicago flag isn't the state flag because Chicago's is so much better. poor california grizzly bears.
Maryland is the best flag hands down [T]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a0/Flag_of_Maryland.svg/2000px-Flag_of_Maryland.svg.png[/t]

If it was a white flag with a stripe of red on the bottom thirds, and the mountain imagery was made more solid and larger and it rose out of a red field, it might look pretty baller. I'm sure an actual artist with a better grasp of proportions could take it and run with it.
I'm so used to the Michigan flag that it doesn't really bother me too much, I can see how it looking like a bunch of other state's flags at a distance is a problem tho

My town's flag is pretty cool [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/dd/Flag_of_Cincinnati,_Ohio.svg/2000px-Flag_of_Cincinnati,_Ohio.svg.png[/t]
My state flag is one of those boring "blue field with state seal" flags (with admittedly a better seal than most), but my city flag is pretty cool: The nine stars represent the nine states that were formed out of the Virginia Commonwealth territory - Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. And those are just from the territory we claimed after the Revolution - the original royal charter included all of Delaware, Tennessee and Maryland, and parts of North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, plus some bits of what is now Canada. Basically, anything east of the Mississippi River that wasn't New England was supposed to be part of the Virginia Colony. And hell, friggen Bermuda was under Virginian governance for a few years in the 17th century, for reasons that I can't recall. The guy in a boat represents the James River and all the trade that went over it. The city was founded on the fall line - you couldn't originally navigate a large boat any further upriver, so this is where they just stopped. I don't know what the stripes represent. I'm going to guess they also represent the river, or maybe two of the local native tribes. Half the schools around here seem to be named after Iroquois tribespeople. I'd expect that more of Jamestown, though. (Somewhat surprisingly for a former capital of the Confederacy, and the only one where the battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia would any make sense (fuck off Mississippi, stop appropriating our culture!), there seems to be no trace of the Civil War in our flag, which I can 100% get behind.)
