for sake of argument, gunshots are loud as hell and would sound pretty awful if you listened to the live recording. That, plus distortion inside the car/the sound of people laughing and/or screaming shit at each other to drive out if a guy actually opened fire on them.

Whenever I shot my brother's rifle at the gun range it usually sparked. And it was a concrete wall behind it, I think.

Depends on the round and backstop. Like, if you are firing tracers, or steel core bullets (military grade rounds) it will spark. But copper and lead don't usually cause sparks IIRC. Steel core rounds with a steel catch = sparks out the ass.

Most shooting videos that I've seen, the guns were pretty quiet even when the camera was up close because of bad microphone quality.
It would probably sound even more muffled from it being in a car.
I'm not arguing that the gunshot was real btw. Just that gunshots don't always sound the same.
